I thought it was juvenile delinquints we were targetting now? ...I think that's a plan Harper could get with in these tough budgetary days.

I think there will be too many head explosions to clean up if we went with Jd's.

If the Leafs land a lottery pick, what if they dealt it (+) to a team with two later 1st's, i.e. Washington or Buffalo?

Use the earlier of the 1st's to draft a prospect (15th -20th) and the include the second 1st (later) in a package for Schneider?

scary thing about reimer is this isnt his first concussion.. how many can a guy sustain before he doesnt recover fully.
- Dozzer

The reason why he got concussed is half due to being hit and the other half due to him wearing a mask that didn't fully protect his face. He changed it immediately and it should protect him a lot better.

As for the concussion changing his game, it probably has to do more with him missing time than it does the concussion itself. Over the off-season, he'll say his prayers, take his vitamins and run wild on training. He should be back and a half decent goalie next year.

I get a sales call from Rogers nightly offering me the opportunity to buy the new Netbox.

Their english is tough to understand so I suspect the call is coming from a call centre in Orenburg (or New Brunswick) ....

Just because you have a lot of goalies, doesn't mean you have "good" goalie depth.
- jbold

So having a goalie leading in gaa in the A isn't good depth? Having the what are they 3rd or 4th best ahl team and best team gaa means nothing?

Not even close. Reimer has a weak glove hand but he is a much better goalie than Gustavsson. And much younger. A sophomore slump and a concussion will put a guy behind.

Both have played poorly for various reasons but it's easy to see Reimer has a future and Gustavsson doesn't.

- Unholy_Goalie

Wrong again.
There's a reason he was low on the depth chart.
A sophomore slump?
He hadn't even completed a full season yet....there's no sophomore to be had.
People are basing everything on the 30 games he played last year during a time when the leafs have been known to play their better hockey (well up until this year).

Gus will walk and we'll be stuck with Reimer and his bloated contract.
But they are both horrible.

Do you think any of our goalies in the system, will be number 1 goalies?

They're lighting up the AHL, good for them.

A few Leaf prospects have done that. Look where they are now.

Didn't see it in reported posts, although I'm only here for a bit at a time, if it's not in reported posts, hard to get to all the comments, even with the 1000 Leaf refs around.

He played 37 games in his first year. Considering he got called up half way through the season, yeah, that was his rookie year. And he did pretty good.

Was he good enough to be the full time starter? Nope. And just like I said in the off-season, horrible goaltending would do the Leafs in this season.

Reimer at 1.8 million is a bloated contract? Wow. This keeps getting better.

They need a veteran like Vokoun, who, may not be playing lights out, but is better than the other veteran options out there. Maybe even a Biron.
