Since Carlyle took over, the leafs have allowed more goals and have scored less. - Fakepartofme
It's pretty tough for a coach to change systems with 20-something games left and get instant results. It's not like he's Hitchcock or anything.
That being said, Carlyle seems to be the type of coach that does better with a team that is a lot closer to being a contender than the Leafs are. Not exactly a rebuilding type of coach as much as he is a getting over the hump type of coach. |

Psst....ummm....look at the sequence of events.
We are in April....a lot has changed.
At that time...Gus still had the leafs in the playoffs.
they go back to rotating Gus and reimer....oh look 25th spot! - Fakepartofme
Gustavsson is among the worst goalies in the league. Shoot above the waist and it's in the net. He is done with the Leafs and possibly done in the NHL too. |

He's still a back up.
The guy made him sound as if Rask had turned into a superstar.
Not the case. - Fakepartofme
And as multiple people explained to you, he's only a back-up because Tim !@#$ing Thomas is in the way!
Rask can and will be a superstar as soon as the net belongs to him. And he's 10 times better than any goalie the Leafs have. |

I hear Wilson does well with kids and the pressures of not making the playoffs in a crazy market. |

Tyrion just added more proof to why he IS Tywins son.
And what was with starting Jon at Cresters, and Dany in the Red waste without any indication as to why they were there.

They pick up cans for 10 cents a piece why not turds for 25? - Oilhab
1. Because they pick up the cans on their own (unfortunately many are heading to the beer store/lcbo etc anyway)
2. Cans and bottles can be measured by unit, unless poop is measured in weight
3. Picking up poop is degrading and demoralizing
4. Would the homeless have to pay taxes of the $0.25?
5. Could one large poop be broken up into many smaller poops to collect more money?
So many questions.
Now if you want to exploit someone for this dirty job, why not use all those little a-hole punks in juvenile detention centers? We could just strap on exploding neck collars and detonate them if they tried to run! |

Prospects become players. I know it's something the Leafs rarely do but it's the way things really work. On winning teams anyway... - Unholy_Goalie
Yes, and we have goalie prospects right now.
there's no sense wasting a 1st on a goalie....unless he can step in the NHL.
Which he wont.
Its not the best use of our 1st. |

Maybe we should hire him again. And then extend him when he does poorly. |

Oh so he will be a superstar?
Wow, you can see into the future...good for you little kid!
Here's the point.
Who cares about Rask...he's not a Leaf.....its not the best use of our 1st to draft a goalie right now.
Get it? |

And I agreed with that. Using 5th to 10th overall on a goalie, in this draft, doesn't make sense. It does make sense however to significantly improve the goaltending situation in Toronto. We have prospects? Rynnas? Owuya? Scrivens? Decent but not exactly eye-popping goaltending prospects. |
