WWE looked really bad running a Benoit tribute show before having all the facts. I can guarantee it's one of Mcmahon's biggest regrets.

I could honestly not care less what number a guy wears.

What if it's 99 or 16 ?

Him and Coots for Carter is a steal along the lines of Gogo for Niskanen and Neal.

3 years from now it will look even better.

Got your deals crossed, good sir.

They got Voracek and Couturier, plus a 3rd rounder for Carter.

Simmonds and Schenn came for Richards.

Cousins is also a chippy little bastard, too. He's going to be about as well liked by other Atlantic division fans as Hartnell.

Are you using Milbury to validate your claims? A man who is known as having perhaps the worst decision making skills in the history of the game. I don't think using the ramblings of a noted crazy person is really the best way to back up an argument.

Couldn't care less....you're honoring the player, not really the number. I hate that 99 is retired league wide. Also hate that 0 and 00 are not allowed to be worn.

I'd have no issue if a Flyers goalie wore #1 or #31, or if a guy wore #16...just a number for the PxP guy to know who is on the ice.

There's no excuse for what he did plain and simple. He took drugs—too bad. THere is this thing called being responsible for our own actions. IF he was still alive I'd be a big advocate of him burning at the stake, case closed.
- JoeRussomanno

I agree with you, but in the case of insanity, it means you are not in control of your own actions. It was a sad, sad, day. I would rather look back and remember the crippler for what he was, instead of the tragic twist his life took. But at the same time... Parts of society love OJ.... And no-one cares that Snoop Dog, C-Murder, even Don King..... have killed.

I just don't get some of the fans who have their panties in a bunch.

1. Borderline plays by both teams all game.
2. Clean hit by the pens
3. Correct response by the Flyers
4. Penguins had fighters out, Flyers didnt other than Simmonds who has 7 stitches in his face from the day before.

Should Lavi have complained afterwards, maybe not.
Should Crosby have cried about Schenn, maybe not.

Move on and get ready for 5-8 more games of this and may the better team win which I believe is going to be the Flyers .

- opeth_pa

I'm just afraid that when both teams settle down it will favor the pens. Plus the pendulum may swing their way. We have won 4 out of 5. But more times than not the pens have carried the play

My issue with Crosby complaining was what he said after the game. I don;t really have an issue with it, just see it as being a bit hypocritical. Both teams were chippy and nasty...Crosby's comments afterward, as well as Lavy's seemed to be self serving gamesmanship.

And honestly, if I was a Penguin, getting a good lick on Schenn would have been part of my MO from the moment he cross checked Crosby, regardless of what caused it. Crosby's the franchise. You want to hit the franchise, you're gonna pay the price.

- Jsaquella

Absolutely, Crosby wants to go after our guy slashing him, then maybe he should keep his head on a swivel. You have to know it's coming. Especially since he was slashing Schenner before hand. I don't have a problem with the Pens sticking up for their guy. Good teammates do. But let's say you spear a guy in the baby-maker when he is down from blocking a shot, take some free hits to the back of a players face and/or pretty much punch a rookie because he is draping you, then when your guy gets rocked, maybe look in the mirror before the finger pointing begins.

im sure shipping out Neal was $$$ related but you'd think they couldve gotten more value from some other team. however, i havent seen much of Golo since the deal, so not sure what his upside is looking like...

He was insane because of drug use and abuse. Regardless of the reasons why he was roided out of his skull, the fact remains, he killed his wife and son.

No. It was just amusing. If he was on Pens radio, he would have catered to the Pens side of the story.

He's right about Crosby and Schenn working on each other before Schenn gets caught with the blatantly late x-check. But other than that, it's all just tongue-in-cheek.

I agree with that. As I have said a few times, my lone issue yesterday were the comments made by Laviolette and Crosby after the game. I think that Lavy calling Bylsma gutless was uncalled for and Crosby's lame comments about the cross check were dumb.

Bill would be a better authority, but simply looking at stats and where the teams sit, the Pens jobbed the Stars

A valid argument if one team was substantially better than the other .
Neither is though. One team might be more front loaded on talent while the other might be deeper.

It's not like we are talking about a series where their is a clear winner. I am a Flyers fan and as such I believe they are going to win for reasons I find logical. The only thing I am afraid of is if the Flyers win they will not have anyone left for the 2 round. I am sure the Pens fans have the same fear for their team.

His own actions are why he became insane. It matters not that his industry put pressure on him to do it. At some point in time we all have to stand on our own two feet and do what's right. He knew full well before he roided himself out of his skull what the risks were. His own actions led to his own insanity, its not like the CIA scooped him up and put a chip in his head to make him go bananas. he doesn't deserve one ounce of kindness even post mortem, Chris Benoit, burn in hell buddy!

In no attempt to rile sh*t up, knowing full well that it will, I think the whole thing can be traced back. Given, there is likely hundreds of dirty plays that occur every game, the highlights to me were:

1.) Vitale open-ice hit on Briere (up high) within the last 90 seconds. Why?
2.) Schenn cross-checks Crosby from behind after the whistle. Why?
3.) Malkin takes liberties with Giroux, laying on top of him and punching the back of his head in to the ice (keeping in mind the historical concussion issues).

That being said, it comes down to Malkin took liberties with our star player, so Schenn did the same with Crosby. Then Bylsma goes 1 step further and sends a goon squad out there, to some extend.

I'm not saying that I'm shocked or sickened by what happened. I'd be eating it up if it was the other way around and the Flyers were sending Shelley, Rinaldo, etc. out there. However, you can't ignore the fact that Malkin and his dirty play was likely the start of these events.

Flyers fans generally don't care that the game gets dirty or chippy. The annoying part is when the Pens fans start crying in droves about the big, bad Schenn, knowing fully that Schenn is only retaliating to Malkin's act with Giroux (and also Sid's slashing/jostling with Schenn).

Now if the Pens' fans stop crying wolf and admit that their players started the dirty play, this is probably a non-issue. It's just when they try to play the victim (think Crosby after the cross-check), the Flyers' fans tend to get fed up with it.

That's all.....
