Crosby is such a skirt he hit schenn late and then gets cross checked and looks back at the ref and is probably in his direct line to betamax a we speak...I know this was discussed earlier in the thread but just seeing the highlights for the first time |

I actually thought the Rangers played pretty well last night. Probably the best they played in any regulation loss all season.
Nobody should dismiss the defending Stanley Cup champs when the playoffs start, Bruins won't be easily beaten by anyone.
Perhaps the silver lining in not winning last night is that the Rangers have to continue to play balls out until they get that point. Clinching last night may have been a little too soon.
I don't think we are going to lose our last 3 in regulation and Pittsburgh is going to win all three they have left. I hope Boston plays as hard as they did last night when the Pens visit them tomorrow. |

Patrice Bergeron won 17 of 19 faceoffs last night, this a couple of weeks after Pavel Datsyuk burned them for 13 out of 17.
Brad Richards gets killed in the dot by the better faceoff guys in the league.

I am sure they will play hard, but now with them locked in the 2 seed I see Turco getting some starts here down the stretch. Doesn't bode well for beating Pitt.
I agree though, the Rangers did play well last night. Outshot Boston 16-3 in the 3rd. Just wish they could have gotten that point. Now we got to keep thinking and talking about it. |

I thought the Rangers played well last night as well. It was a tough hockey game, against the defending Stanley Cup Champions, who are a very similar team to the Rangers. Playoff games against teams like the Bruins will be decided in the same exact manner as last night -- opportunistic goals, good goaltending, and whoever makes more mistakes. At the end of the day, the Rangers and Bruins are about as dead even as hockey clubs as you can find. The same is probably close to true of the Rangers and Flyers (despite the Rangers record against them).
It's going to be a very interesting playoff, and I can see several teams coming out of the East.

I'm with you & jimbo, I thought we gave it our all last night, the Bs were due against us. And Boston is the type of team coming off last yr that might get stronger as the playoffs go on, they know the grind that it takes to put together 16 wins in 2 months, pound for pound they still could & maybe should be considered the favorites to come out of the East. |

Keep it all in perspective, I happen to think Boston will play well and hard tomorrow night, hockey is such a game of rhythmn and Pitt has been beaten by lesser goaltenders than Turco here recently and there are only so many guys you can rest so I expect Boston to continue building toward another post season run, they are starting to look like last year's team down the stretch...I will not sweat anything this week...this is a different Rangers team, different mentality, they have been playin gwith blinders on all season why and how is that going to change in games # 80-82...Cindy even conceded in his post game once he dried his eyes that the 1st round series between them and Philly will be a war...we're fans, we tend to overthink more than we trust, if this team has done nothing else its earned a high level of trust...Lets Go Rangers!!!! |

The Pens/Flyers fans thing is just gonna go off the charts with a game against each other to end the season to potentially decide home ice in what will be a BRUTAL 7 gm series. |

The effort was there but the execution was lacking. Getting owned in the face-off circle, poor passing and not enough shot attempts through the first two periods.
The defense was strong, save for a few brain cramp moments from Dan Girardi. This loss doesn't worry me, but it does frustrate me. Two tough road games this week and then the season finale against a desperate Capitals team.
All they need is one point in these next three or a loss of any kind from Pittsburgh.
This better not come down to Saturday. |

The odds are in favor of the Rangers getting home ice throughout the East playoff rounds.
But it would be nice to see them finish strong instead of backing into postseason play.
It would also be nice to see them sweep Philadelphia clean this season.
They will come out like barbarians tomorrow; Rangers need to be ready for an assault, right off the opening draw. |

Its going to be fun for so many reasons, for one they will beat the holy hell out of each other and one of them will be eliminated, I hate Pittsburgh more than Philly right now, the mere sight of Crosby's face makes my blood boil but philly isn't far behind, if the Rangers are fortunate enough to get through then the winner will more than likely be their 2nd round opponent and bloodied at that...both teams don't defend worth a damn...I just hope we get that chance... |

Not necessarily. I see NJ beating Florida if they hold onto the 3 seed. So if the Rangers won there is a good chance they would get Jersey in the 2nd round. This is all speculation but I don't think the Rangers would get Flyers/Pitt unless they make it to the ECF. |

Which is why getting this point is so crucial. If the potential paths are
Philly-Boston-Pitt
or
Washington/Buffalo - NJ- Philly/Boston/Pitt
I think I would take choice B....although no series will be easy no matter who they face.

Thats true, I can see that happening as well, I should have thought about that before my post...big game for the Caps tonight...although Fla still will have a game in hand...big point by them last night vs Detroit...having the Devils play the Caps and the Rangers playing Fla looks a lot better doesn't it?? |

You are aware that Philly is 4-1 against the Pens this season, right? Two of those games with Crosby in the lineup as well!
That draw doesn't favor Pittsburgh at all, especially with Fleury looking like sh!t as of late. We could very well see a NJ-NY & Phi-Bos second round. |

Christian Thomas and Shane McGolgan headed to the Connecticut Whale.
I may be the odd duck here, but I don't think Thomas has what it takes to make the big club in New York.

Even though I hate the Pens, I just cannot say they will be done in the 1st round. They have what philly doesn't and that is experience. |
