[quote=airjan23]all, thanks for carrying the blog, was a bit of a crazy day yesterday. Will get one up shortly incorporatingf many of your comments and have a pointed comment for Milbury/Jones on their post-game analysis on Pitt-Phi game

it's definitely going to be the trendy thing to do for people to come up with reasons why Lundqvist shouldn't win the Vezina
- jimbro83

Im a little concerned with quick. i believe he is the only one that has a shot at it besides hank.

well, I think if Quick had to face Boston, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia as often as Lundqvist does his goals against may be a bit higher.

these shutouts Quick gets vs the Oilers and Flames of the world are pretty amazing

I am actually glad Bryz is starting tonight. He has been out for a week, and still has the bone chip in his foot. I think the Rangers can take advantage of him tonight.

true. 10 of the bottom 14 scoring teams are in the west. (excluding the kings) the majority of the top 15 scoring teams play in the east, including the top 4. Philly, pittsburgh, bruins and Ottawa. 1 and 2 are in our division.

people are gonna make a lot of excuses for Lundqvist not to win the vezina.

1. Rinne and MAF with 40 wins.
2. Elliott and Quick with more shutouts.
3. Elliot with a better Save % and GAA.

Hank should win, but he wont.

Haven't been following the rangers too closely since they've had 1st place locked up for a while now, so I was wondering how they've been playing over the last week or so? Playoff ready? Stumbling toward the finish line? Playing even?

Over the past 2 weeks they have been pretty sharp. Not always getting the 2 points but the their game has been good. The key for the Rangers like it always is, is Hank and the secondary scoring. Both have been much better over the past 2 weeks.

Lundqvist still has a shot to hit that mark. Rinne has a started 11 games more and only has 3 more wins. Fleury has also had a few more starts.

And the Rangers have 107 points tied for best in the league. Hank should win because, as we all know, when NY wins the entire league wins. Remember how hockey was so popular in 94..It's coming around again

Playing well is more important than gaining every point, especially for the rangers who are in 1st. This year the Ranger might have what they need to make a long run if what you mentioned holds up.

I hope to meet you in the second or third round. That would be a pretty series.

agreed. Look at all the .920+ save% goalies this year. he is 29th in that stat, 17th or 18th if you only include starters. Henrik really deserves it this year. He has been the most consistent goalie post lockout.

I got a feeling if we do meet, it won't be til the ECF. I see NJ winning that 3-6 matchup. Which would probably give the winner of Philly/Pit - Boston

But this is all speculation and the Rangers haven't clinched jack squat yet. So it is all subject to change.

seeing your card avitar I had a flashback in my mind of when we traded Don Murdoch to the Oilers for Cam Connor.

I remember getting the Daily News from in front of my front door, looking at the backpage HEADLINE (A Ranger trade made a headline in those days) and it saying in bold print:

IT'S CAM, as in BAM!!!!

If we make it through the pens only to face Boston and then the Rangers, yikes

I'd be happy just to make it that far with a full roster
