I swear if you take Crosby's face and just squish it, it turns it into Malkin's face

BC still hasn't given up a goal yet in the tourny....gotta start small Jimbo. A loss right now is like asking for the World

You would have loved Pierre MaGuire's brief editorial on Kreider, during last night's Lightning-Caps game.

They were discussing the frozen four, mainly because lightning prospect Justin Brown from Minnesota-Duluth was on TB's top line.

Anyway, MaGuire was absolutely raving about Kreider and how he is going to be a phenomenal pro. You would have been proud.

I guess I can sleep better at night knowing that Pierre approves haha.

But seriously, even if he doesn't play for the Rangers this postseason, please just get him signed. I think he does, and like Jimbo says I hope it is after Thursday nights loss.

I remember back at that draft 3 years ago Pierre raving about Kreider's speed & saying the Rangers got a real good kid with that pick, he loved him.

I don't think the issue is if, just when. He will be a Ranger just might not be until next season.

I remember that as well. He also said that Kreider was the best prospect to come out of New England since Brian Leetch.

With the above said, I have a hard time believing that Torts is going to play a guy in the playoffs that hasn't been with the club the entire year. He may do it, but there is something to be said about dancing with the one that brung ya, and I just don't see a guys who have paid the price the entire year getting the boot in favor of Kreider. If injuries occur, or if the team needs a jump, I can see him playing then, but I just can't see him starting off in the lineup.

Yea the only chance is if BC losses on Thursday, Kreider signs and he gets to play in the season finale against Washington. If Torts likes what he sees then he has 3 days of practice/teaching to get him ready. But at this point, this is a long shot at best. The Rangers have been playing good hockey with the group they have now. I don't see Torts breaking that up unless an injury, or they fall apart here down the stretch.

As always Pete, you bring up a great point. It still seems hard to believe that Slats as wise & calculated as he is would make that statement he did back when we didn't get Nash, clearly talking about Kreider, if he didn't have some serious discussions with Torts about the subject.

that's just it, the injury factor. With the way this group plays, if they are going to make it until June, there will be more injuries, it's not a case of if.

So if Kreider gets in here and starts practicing with the team and even if it's not until the second or third round, an injury happens, and Kreider can come in like a secret weapon like Rob Lowe did in Youngblood.

Connecticut callups will get a chance to play before Kreider does this season.

Even if BC lost on Thursday, how do we know he would immediately sign with NY?

Chances are slim we see him suit up this season. Let this kid come next year and establish himself with a full training camp under his belt.

saw a few posts about schultz being difficult to get.

he'll be a UFA and can only be signed to a maximum cap hit of about ~900k. it's not really a question of whether we can offer him the best contract; it's all about where he wants to go. and new york city can be a very attractive destination for a young professional athlete.

If the Wisconsin duo can't convince them to come to New York the kid will sign
with Vancouver. Its close as close to home as he can get......

it's definitely going to be the trendy thing to do for people to come up with reasons why Lundqvist shouldn't win the Vezina
