I think he was pissed that Asham and Engelland were out there for the last shift.
- Jsaquella

That has to be it, but doesn't it make sense for Bylsma to keep his skilled guys off the ice there? The outcome of the game has already been decided.

If Sid and Geno want to slash and punch G, they better be ready to take some punishment.

In a 6-3 game, with 1 minute left, Pens send out a goon squad and Vitale's elbow barely missed Briere's head. The hit was clean, but the intent was CLEAR! Flyers won't sit back and let that sh*t happen. The Pens knew exactly what they were doing, and they're at fault here.

Yeah, all 5-11" of Joe Vitale. He's a terror.

Yes he was no doubt about it. I for one don't have a problem with it when you know what the future holds, if the tables were turned you wouldn't either.
- canadianpenfan

Exactly. Although I have no clue who we would have sent out there beyond Rinaldo.

Vitale is hardly a goon.
- kgrpitt

He's thrown at least two dirty hits today. Goon or not, they guy is out there trying to hurt people. I guess since Cooke is "reformed" you needed another moron to do all that crap.

Look at Gerber. You don't need to be a monster to play dirty. Let's not pretend you're as stupid as you make yourself out to be.....

Yeah, I wouldn't have put Crosby out if I was Bylsma...maybe Lavy was upset because of Malkin's shenanigans after every whistle.

I get being pissed at Schenn, but Malkin's been engaging in chippy poop all game, too.

I don't think his stature really impacts his intentions, sir.

What were the two dirty hits? The knee on knee I bet you are counting, yet it was an unfortunate play and not intent to injure and....?

If Malkin and Crosby are going to play dirty you have to give it back to them. I dont care who they are they dont go without being touched. I love what Schenn and Couturier did during that third period.

People consider the 5'11" 180 lb Rinaldo to be a goon.

The knee on knee hit was dirty and intentional. He threw an elbow at Briere at the end that just missed. Since it missed, it wasn't called, but you can clearly see that he's trying to take Briere's head off with an elbow on the replay.
