I guess you could say the playoff match-up has a good chance to be a little chippy. - ravishingone

This is clearly opposite day. The Penguins stand accused of "gooning it up" and Craig Berube is trying to keep people from coming to blows. Nice win gentlemen, we'll see you next week, and 4-7 games if necessary after that. |

Yeah, I wouldn't have put Crosby out if I was Bylsma...maybe Lavy was upset because of Malkin's shenanigans after every whistle.
I get being pissed at Schenn, but Malkin's been engaging in chippy poop all game, too. - Jsaquella
Agreed. Someone has to put Malkin in his place. He's running amuck out there. |

No I wouldn't, but that doesn't take away the fact that Malkin is the biggest gaping Minj fake tough guy in the league hahahaah - KINGKENZO
I've said it before and I'll say it again, when you get Malkin playing the way the Flyers get him to play, a little cheap after the whistle type stuff, it works in your favour. Malkin has to learn how to stay away from the crap but he can't. |

The crying needs to stop. Had Rinaldo run Crosby in the same situation the Pens would have been all over him the same way. Just STFU and accept it.

Exactly... malkin punches Roo then Cooter in the head, and then that's why Schenn takes a shot at their star. Then Bylsma sends the goons out and try to end Briere's career with a head shot where he didn't even try to play the puck.. Brutal.. |

The knee on knee hit was dirty and intentional. He threw an elbow at Briere at the end that just missed. Since it missed, it wasn't called, but you can clearly see that he's trying to take Briere's head off with an elbow on the replay. - BringBack25
1. wrong.
2. wrong. He made contact, and then lifted his elbow. That happens on EVERY hit.
Good try, though! |

And sticking out a leg to go knee to knee is considered what exactly?
If you're going to complain about chippy or dirty play by opposing teams, you need to man up at some point and accept that your team is often just as guilty.
Let's not sit here and act as if the Penguins only employ choirboys that never cross the line. I know the Flyers certainly have guys that will engage, and if you think the Pens don't, then honestly you're a fool. |

And if someone would've crosschecked Roo like Schenn did to Crosby you'd be crying too.

Did I say they were choirboys? I was harping on Malkin for his punch to Giroux earlier.

I don't think that we should send goons out even if we're losing the game at the end and take a shot a knocking Crosby out. Just not the way the game is played nowadays. |

Somewhere the NBC executives have a little smirk on their face with this first round match-up. Flyers-Pens games are always entertaining, I'm biased still think it is the best rivalry in the NHL right now.

We got the "W" now lets get the home ice advantage for that series. |
|
|
|
Might as well try and get the # 4 seed now. If the Rags win tonight, they clinch the Division and home ice, wonder if they would rest guys tuesday. And give Lundqvist the night off. |
