Am I the only person who wants to see at least a 10 minute OT?

I'm fine with ending the shoot-out after that.

Ten-minutes of 5 on 5, or even 5 at 5 on 5 and 5 at 4 on 4.

Anything to decrease the number of shoot-outs.

This is really what it comes down to for me. I'd personally prefer two points for a win at any point in the game, and no points for a loss at any point in the game.

2 points for a regulation win
2 points for an OT win. 1 point for a OT loss.
1 point for a SO win. Zero points for an SO loss.

Gives you a little incentive to crank it up in the OT, especially if you need the points or suck at SO's like we do.

Didn't really think this one through. I was bored.

Too much time during the regular Season. It's long enough as it is.

Watching this cup game from 1974. The game is so different now. I think a good Junior National team could beat these guys.

Something just doesn't sit right with me about having one game mean more than another. I figure if we have to have shootouts instead of ties, a game should be worth two points to a victor and none to a loser. Anything else feels gimmicky to me, hard-line as it is.

I think I'm doomed to a small amount of dissatisfaction no matter what, worse fates to have I suppose

What was that from Giroux? You guys don't want the other point or something?

This team has taken on the philosophy of it's coach when it comes to the shootout. They don't respect it, they view it as a gimmick. The difference between the Pens and Flyers is strictly the shootout success. We all like to hate it, but you can't deny the importance it has in the NHL today. For the Flyers, it means traveling to Pittsburgh on April 11.

I have to disagree that they don't respect it, or that that is in any way the Coaches philosophy. I don't know what that's based on.

And they still have two head to head games against the Pens. So it is far from decided who will have home ice.

It is obvious from interviews Lava hates the shootout. If you send out that vibe it'll permeate throughout the team. And then you get Giroux treating it like a video game. I don't really care how they treat it. But they have to know their failures in the shootout are why they'll start out on the road. I don't think Lava respects it.

I just don't know what else to attribute it to. Flyers certainly don't lack the talent for it on either end. Now, I like the way they played today. I feel the Flyers have a real shot at doing some damage if they can just get by Pittsburgh. I like the idea of the flyers starting out on the road against Pittsburgh.

I think these last few games, the only playoff position up for grabs is that 6 dman spot. MAB or Lilja? I like MAB better. But I might like the pairing of Lilja/Kubina better. Gustaffson I think has played his way behind those two. I've been disappointed in him.

Just because you dislike something, which by the way is your interpretation of it. Doesn't mean you don't respect it. There are points in the standings on the line. To suggest that the Coach is transferring an attitude that could cost the team points, is unsupported in my opinion. And like I said, there are two games left against the Pens. So why do you keep stating that it's already been decided where they will start the playoffs?

Giroux chose to do that move today, not the Coach.

In my opinion if he's healthy, Lilja will play.

If Lilja is healthy he HAS to play. Now that Bryz has shown he can be the guy, this season has taken on the complexion that they can win the whole thing, and it's not time to start experimenting with rookies in place of playoff experienced veterans if you have the choice.

I am happy, however, that unlike in years past, if we lose one or two defensemen, we can play guys that have gotten a lot of NHL playing time this year and can step in.

It's as close to a completely inexcusable loss as I can think of in recent seasons.
