He's not even hitting more with the additional ice time he's been getting. He's not doing anything...
Scooby may be right...he may be a sitting in the playoffs. - boonerbuck
I can see the potential, but he's just not ready yet. If he's going to play in the playoffs they need to tell him to just go out there and hit everything.
He's a beat down low though. So hard to take the puck off him. |

I agree completely. As soon as he gets some chemisrty with his line mates he'll be able to get in there, jar the puck loose (or protect it until his linemates get into position), and feed it out front for a scoring chance. We have a lot of guys who play soft along the boards. Burrows, Hansen, and now Kassian are our best assets along said boards. I don't think there's any chance Kassian sits for the playoffs. |

Think there is a chance next season Jordan Schroeder could play on the wing with kesler and booth? And do you think it would be a effective line with there speed and Jordan Schroeder added playmaking skills? |

I have not had a chance to see this kid play. Will size be an issue? |

Lots of potential...I agree. As far as the playoffs go I say play the best players and I think Bitz, Reinpretch and possibly Duco have him beat as a 4rth liner... the 3rd line is set and he's not top six yet.
If the unthinkable happens and the Canucks are eliminated early...think about what the Wolves will look like with Kassian on their tops six beside Schroeder...could be a 3rd line preview for next *regular* season...

Schroeder hasn't come close to making the team in the last few summer camps and rarely ever gets called up. If he manages to make the team this summer (my guess is unlikely) knowing how AV "grooms" his youngsters Schroeder will be playing on the 3/4 line (like CoHo) for a while before he gets 2nd line consideration. He'll be 22 in Sept. It's now or never to make this team. |

Thanks VANTEL. Unfortunately, leaf fan, hawk fan, and most MODS don't agree with your assessment. - bloatedmosquito
I think that you're actually too entertaining, and the mods are just trying to keep it in small doses, so no one wets themselves to death. I was nearly on life support after seeing Alex on the computer there. |

They took so long with Grabner, I almost expect Schroeder to have to wait a little longer. But who knows? If he deserves it, I'm sure he'll be up. He will certainly get a long look next year. |

The only other option is play Manny or Lappy on the 3rd line next season or sign a 3rd line C. I think they will give him a look since they do have the two vetrans to fall back on.
If Pahlsson is a big success in the playoff, they will probably offer him a one year and let Schroeder develope another year. It's not make or break at all for him like Alex says. He's the draft class after Cody Hodgson actually... and being smaller could only get better in the AHL.
How far the Wolves go this playoffs could have a huge impact on how much more experienced Scroeder is for next camp. He seems to be getting on a good run right now...it would be nice if he gets a ton of high level play. Other AHL teams are getting better once their affiliates are done for the year. He'll be playing more NHL talent now...

There was actually an article today in the Montreal Gazzette on Shroeder:

Higgins and Lapierre found their stride in the playoffs last year. It has been said it takes time for players to adjust to new teams. I don't have any problems with Kassian. I seen the game the opther night and the D for the other time was getting aggressive until Kassian skated up . Even that is a big improvement. |

Still very young. He is still expected to move up when Hank and Kes start to fade .Still maybe 2 years from the bigs. |

I just want to go on record and say the Canucks "new defensive style" sucks. It consists of Higgins getting one goal a game and the team letting the goalie do the rest of the work. |
