Yea but why do we need yakupov? We only need to get into the top 3 so we can draft grigorenko/galchenyuk. Unless we somehow trade to get another pick in the top 5 but how unlikely is that to happen? Would be nice to draft both yakupov and galchenyuk since we already know they have chemistry together

It would be nice to see the Leafs get a 1st overall. I know jack poop about these guys who are gonna be drafted, but I do know they've been talking about that Nail guy for a while.

The Leafs began to tank purposely when Carlyle came aboard. Not the players per se, but rather a conscious management decision. Through suspect injuries, Carlyle running the team ragged in practise etc.

It just seems too well co-ordinated this complete and total collapse

I think we had around 15 last time I threw one together, although I wont be using that same website. Likely go with Yahoo this time around if anything.

the devils moved from 6th to 4th I believe...i still dont think any team outside the top 4 can move to first...the sens were 5th last year and lost the lottery so picked 6th..but i remember they couldnt move up to higher than 2nd or something like that even if they won the lottery...its a weird system

So it's not out of the question. (frank), I'm counting my chickens. Leafs ain't even gonna finish in the bottom 5 now.

Maybe they won the lottery? Just because they win the lottery doesn't mean they get 1st. They can move up 4 spots. Only the bottom 5 have a chance to pick 1st.

when we lose the rest of our games, like ottawa - we will both be golfing early and it will be easier to pick players for the playoffs as nobody will be using their "homerism".

how anyone can cheer for spezza and alfy is beyond me.

Yea but then he won't have a #1C just like kessel so we are right where we started? You look at the guys who are tops in the NHL and all are centers. I'd honestly rather get top 3 so we just stick with grigo/galchenyuk. Unless we get the 1st and trade down to 3 and add some assets
