This.....Kadri has to start the season on the Leafs and stay and learn.....no yoyos - JIMI-JAMES
I'm not a big Kadri fan. He is taking a long time to develop into anything, especially on a team that could use him. |

So if I understand well, the Leafs are in great shape, same with the farm.
Then my goodness, care to explain why they (frank)ing suck donkey balls in the last 4 seasons? - Pecafan Fan
goaltending and D is a good starting point if you want to know about that. but pretty sure a peewee hockey player could point that out. |

you know.....we could just stop following the Leafs altogether? Clearly its too stressful for some and many dont see any improvements over the past few years and dont agree with the direction....so why dont those who see it as I just mentioned, give up on the team if there are no positives?
serious question?
You loved nintendo for years, and have stayed a fan of all things nintendo for years to come, but after 10+ years of not coming out with anything that appeases your interest do you still buy their games anways and support their company? Or do you decide to grab an xbox which delivers games you enjoy and you can see a clear future with? What do you owe to nintendo, who is clearly upsetting you year after year and you clearly dont agree with the direction theyre taking.
Just saying. - noename09[
I will never jumpship
I pull out my NES and play all the games I used to love... in term of the leafs, thats re watching the Dougie years over and over and remembering the good times waiting until they come out with a game or system i like again |

This is absolutely hilarious. - Pecafan Fan
If you asked every Canucks player after game 7 how they thought their season went, I bet most would say "disappointing" despite how close they were. Same goes for every non-cup winning team before them!
Every positive we hear from defeated teams is for the sake of the fanbase and media.
Considering that you're a Habs fan and how important winning is to that franchise, city and fanbase etc, I'm surprised that you disagree.
Are you satisifed with the Habs this season? Do you think the players are?

this, to me, makes it sound like you are not a leaf fan. hence the confusion |

Listen Pecafan....I don't go into the Habs threads. Are there ANY Habs fans in there who are happy with their team? Cause we see to have quite a few satisfied Leafs fans in here. - triggermartin
Collective relief yesterday when the news that Gauthier and Gainey were fired came out. |

actually, i never said the farm team is in great shape.
not once.
lets take a look at what you said:
The top 3 scorers on the Marlies are career AHLers.
Yes, they have some prospects and a little depth, but there are no sure shot superstars down there who will save the leafs.
all i asked is what team in the NHL has 1 player that is playing on their AHL team that is going to be a superstar to save their franchise, just like you said.
you couldnt come up with one and u gave some lame response, that is all. |

F-yeah! Loads of average prospects to get all hot and bothered about. - triggermartin
This is the thing right here IMO. At some point you have to realize that the media and sports stations must find something positive, anything, to prop up in order stimulate canada's biggest hockey market, and their following from the said market. So they maybe a little guilty of over hyping a prospect or a player (a la Schenn) into something that they arent, or maybe even something that they will never be in order to keep a large portion of their fans interested and happy. The idea is to remain a little skeptical and still remain excited about such players, but stop buying the hype and allow it a chance to pan out 1st, or at least see the player enough yourself to draw your own conclusions. These sports stations have lots to gain by doing this and very little to lose if the same player doesnt pan out as expected. The team and the fans on the other hand have much to lose. |

how can you compare the feeling of the Habs missing the playoffs and being bottom feeders to the feeling of a team going to game 7 of the Stanley Cup finale?
Seriously can't wait to read your posts once the leafs make the playoffs. Should be good. |

Wow. Don't you think your fellow Leaf fans have a right to be upset? 7 years of not making the playoffs... I would be pissed too. If they want to trash Burke and every player on the team, guess what... They are right. They were on track to make the playoffs and choked. Burke seems to always make the wrong move... Heck if I was there last night I would have been chanting "lets go blue jays" too and I'm a phillies fan, so you know that would pain me... Give them a break.... |
