You really don't find Vokoun to be a good goaltender?
- ThePresident

Well he looked awful all year for the caps and hasn't won a single playoff series so no, I've never been impressed with Vokoun. To be fair, I don't really think much of most European goalies. Obviously there are some exceptions like Lunquist who may be the best goalie in the league but for the most part, they don't impress me that much really.

I think Thomas is on the down turn of his career.

It's just the reality.
Since Burke is there, the Toronto Maple Leafs have not improved one iota.

Loved what Molson said about the habs yesterday (let me summarize):

In the last 9 years (the gainey/gauthier era) this teams has simply not been good enough. Both were fired.

This is very true......... BUT

ya know that might actually be the best plan at this point...
- Fruitcakenipple

you know.....we could just stop following the Leafs altogether? Clearly its too stressful for some and many dont see any improvements over the past few years and dont agree with the direction....so why dont those who see it as I just mentioned, give up on the team if there are no positives?

serious question?

You loved nintendo for years, and have stayed a fan of all things nintendo for years to come, but after 10+ years of not coming out with anything that appeases your interest do you still buy their games anways and support their company? Or do you decide to grab an xbox which delivers games you enjoy and you can see a clear future with? What do you owe to nintendo, who is clearly upsetting you year after year and you clearly dont agree with the direction theyre taking.

Just saying.

I meant at the beginning of the season.

Not bring him up in this cluster(frank) of an end of season.

- Pecafan Fan

Aww ok, makes sense now, although i still disagree, i believe he needed that year down there, and will be a better player for it.

You can't be serious.... are you?
- Pecafan Fan

I AM!

Only ONE team each year reaches their goal and last season it was Boston.

Anything less IMO is a failure. Sure, some positives can be taken and built upon for next season in the hopes of achieving the ultimate goal, but I'd be willing to bet that just about EVERY player who has grown up dreaming of winning the cup and doesn't aren't statisifed.

Any player who says that they are satisifed with their season if they haven't won the cup is not a player that I would want on the Leafs.

The top 3 scorers on the Marlies are career AHLers.
Yes, they have some prospects and a little depth, but there are no sure shot superstars down there who will save the leafs.

Rinne as well. I believe Toskala and the Monstar have jaded your opinion slightly.

Naw, not even, they need to stay the course, and burkie needs to shut his face or at least tell the truth for once, and explain this is a process and not an overnight thing, and will take a while to come into fruition, but the leafs will be a better team for it in the end, something the fans can really get behind and enjoy. Not the "we are going to make the playoffs this year" nonsense he spews yearly.
- Prolific_Scorer

see? i know this.. and you mean to tell me you guys would be on board if burke was honest about it?

come on man.. he owes you no honesty.. not one bit.. he cant instill a culture that accepts losing..

that would make things worse than they are

I said consider. I never said it would happen. What I'm saying is that it has to be clear, even to the Pope of Hockey down there at TML that our core is rotten.
- triggermartin

if our core is so awful then how come lupul/kessel were top 5 in scoring all season til lupul got hurt?

grabovski another 25 goal season, who easily would have had 30 and a lot more assists if kulemin didnt have a career worst year.

There will be a bit of a turnover next year as quite of few of the Junior players will be joining them.
