So we'd be a 60 win team just by adding Vokoun? Sign me up

We will ignore the fact that he couldn't stop a beach ball all this season too btw

- Sheppy99

Where would the Rangers be without Lundqvist, obviously he is better then Vokoun, but seriously, the Rangers overall roster isn't that good. You guys seem to under estimate the importance of a goalie.

Toronto was as good as every single team last year not named Boston.

to think that Vokoun alone would have given this team 20+ more wins, again, is crazy. Seriously...

whats better is the chance that Roy could be their coach, and Mcguire their GM......

(no sane ownership group should let either of them, fill either role, btw)

- noename09

The one sad thing about Pierre becoming Habs GM is no more Pierre Mcguire drinking game

Not literally alone, obviously the team as a whole would have played better in front of him is what I'm saying.

Because the Burke/Wilson/Carlyle trio is/were doing wonders in TO, right?

I'd love to see Roy as either coach or GM in Montreal......... if only for the sheer entertainment of it.

I'm not worried. He won't be named GM.
- Pecafan Fan

ok then...so we agree....

Lets hope, for the sake of being a hockey fan, that the Habs ownership group get their heads out their arses and pick the best candidates for both roles, regardless of if they speak french of not.

English, its the universal language.

(and please dont get me wrong, as a french person, I understand the media/culture etc etc that is Quebec....but this is about running a hockey team filled with english speaking players)

those are two bold statements....assuming both Vokoun would lead the team to the playoffs and that the team would suddenly learn to play defense because of Vokoun, is well, as Ive said....crazy.

A vet goalie WILL help, give this team a much better CHANCE to win games while also allowing for Reimer to be mentored and possibly gain confidence...but will NOT suddenly make the team play better hockey. Its still a team game.

It's easier to improve a team when you actually have a quality goaltender.

It's just the reality.
Since Burke is there, the Toronto Maple Leafs have not improved one iota.

Loved what Molson said about the habs yesterday (let me summarize):

In the last 9 years (the gainey/gauthier era) this teams has simply not been good enough. Both were fired.

First of all, I NEVER said that Kadri needed to be playing "full time." I said that he needed a little more time up with the Leafs so that Wilson (at the time), Burke, management (Nonis, Dudley, Loiselle etc) and even Kadri could get a better sense of exactly where Kadri's at. Was Don Cherry completely offbase with his recent critique of how the Leafs have handled Kadri? NO!

Secondly, with regards to Kadri "outplaying" any of the top 6, I beg to differ. Given periods of MacArtur's and ESPECIALLY most of Kulemin's seasons, either one of those guys could/should have been bumped down to the third line. Both would fit and have been suitable there and it might also have served as a kick in the a$$ to get them going well! I know Kadri is a "natural C" and that Grabo owns the #2 C, but it wouldn't be the first time a player has been moved to the W for a look and to accommodate the available roster positions.

I'm not looking to rush Kadri by any means, but I certainly don't want to hold him back unnecessarily either. Hinderance can be just as damaging to a player's development as rushing a player can be.

There was a reason why Wilson was fired, and one of the main reasons was that he wasn't getting everything he could out of every player and ultiziing their strengths to their full capabilities and Kadri IMO falls directly into this category.

Experience is the greatest teacher of all and Kadri should had more by now!

- As_I_See_It

Alls I gotta say is Kadri playing with the Marlies (while winning) didnt hurt his development. Obv there was a reason he wasnt called up and we may never know if it was something "off ice" or problems with his attitude etc....either way he didnt demonstrate ENOUGH to be called up and when he was, he didnt do ENOUGH to stay up.

Hes still young, hes still got a ways to go....hell get his chance. Lets leave it at that.
