what are you talking about?

their only first round pick (that they themselves drafted) in their lineup is JVR

and he's hardly the difference maker on the team

That's technically true. But they were rebuilt through draft picks Carter and Richards, who they then flipped for more first rounders. Kind of a wash, in the end. Still a bunch of first round draft picks.

I do remember, actually. Was trying to repress that down inside actually. Thanks for bringing that up again. It was FUGLY, wasn't it. A little Freddy Boimstruck action on the D, a little Stew Gavin forecheck up front, got yer Jiri Cihra between the pipes. Good times!

in that light nowadays really dont seem all that bad!

Thats what the Caps thought this year - bubble team with Vokoun in net
And WSH is a perceived better team than the Leafs - not sure Vokoun is the answer

- MTL1

Vokoun clearly isn't the problem, if anything he's held the team together while they've all been on vacation. Take a look at Vokoun, such an awesome underrated goalie. He plays great even on crap teams, FLA, Nashville, and now the Caps when they aren't playing in front of him. Vokoun would clearly be the answer, a veteran presence for Reimer and the club.

I hear ya, but Kadri was drafted 3 YEARS AGO!!! At some point you need to bring these players (1st round picks) in to see if they can hang with "the big boys" for an extended period of time.

How does giving Kadri 2 or 3 games at a time with the Leafs help?

How does playing with practically CAREER AHLer's like Zigomanis, Dupuis and Finger and a bunch of other guys who will NEVER even get a shot help?

The fact that Dupuis has played 30 games versus Kadri's 21 games is a fu
ckin' disgrace!

- As_I_See_It

Go look at all teams in the NHL who have been above average for the past 10+ years...and tell me how many 21 year olds are playing full time who have been given a few chances and cant seemingly get it together. He was brought down to improve his play, and hasnt gotten there yet. There was no one within the top6 that he was "outplaying" and the only call ups were for 3rd/4th line guys which Kadri could not play.

So...more development with the Marlies, who are doing well, was the best choice.

Kari scored on that shootout...... caused us a point.

That is in direct violation of the current plan......... demotion was inevitable

By many accounts, including Dallas Eakins, Kadri is simply not strong enough to play in the NHL, and his work ethic in getting there has been....questionable.

Touche. Tank Nation NEEDS to happen!

Perhaps Kadri, Colborne and maybe even Hamilton AKA "FRESH BLOOD" should have been brought in in mid February when it was painfully obvious that the Leafs were starting to slide can could have used a spark from a couple of the younger guys.

The Leafs need to sign Vokoun during the offseason, with him alone, we'd instantly win 20-30 more games.

With a more defensive system, yes...with Wilson's system? no

seemingly the only one for some reason

just cause kadri was drafted high, he deserves the time with the Leafs. Theres no sense in giving him more time to get his sheit together and work on his game while playing for a winning team!...naaaah....pull him up early and let him play for a losing Leafs club, thatll fix em!!

I think so, I mean look at the guys save percentage, its not like he's been Marty Brodeur facing 10-15 shots a night for the last 15 years. He has seen a lot of action in front of him, and responds well to it.
