Making him the captain because he walked in and put on his music (Creed) in the dressing room was a HUGE mistake. Absolutely ridiculous - this guy shows no leadership quality. - 1979AD
he leads the team in shots missed high....no? |

remove biggs and percy and yes, i agree.
too early to know how good these guys are going to be in the NHL. but the rest, i agree - big_dion
Nothing wrong with Percy at all, outside of the concussion he got from one of the weirdest collisions.... and that he's from Ontario. |

When will Burke show his face again? He has to address the Leafs Nation sometime and take some questions. Burkie really needs to be a leader and tell fans what's up... The big problem for the Leafs is that there is no accountability. - riceroni
No the Leafs big problem is that they dont win hockey games. |

Naaah....weve all accepted this was entirely Wilson and Gus' fault. Try and catch up with the times, would ya!? - noename09
Oh ya, blame Wilson... I forgot about that... Obviously it was Wilson that is still screwing up the team... Before the Wilson firing they were still blaming JFJ... They need to target someone who is still in the organization... maybe some of the players...
What would be balsy for Carlyle is to put Dion and Kessel in the pressbox for a couple games |

I *really* thought the team would make the playoffs, and figured it would be good experience...but at the end of the day, the better option for this young group was to pick as high as they can in the draft. So... |

I think there's 3 goalies slated for the first 2 rounds. Should be able to get 1 with the 2nd round pick. Either Vasil something (the Russian junior team goalie from last year) or little Subban. - 1979AD
We still have a lot of depth in net, but just no anchor (a legit, number one goalie). In hindsight, I regret not resigning Giguere for the $1.25 COL paid at this point; he's having a solid bounce back year, provided veteran presence and leadership, cup winner, etc. etc.
Would've allowed all three guys duke it out for the #1 spot, with the #3 guy (likely Gus) dominating in the AHL with the Marlies, each improving their game and value as a tradeable asset, if that's the direction we go.
Instead, we got two guys who had terrible years, one guy who's likely not fit to be an NHL starter (Gus), the other guy with better upside, but still unsure of himself, eroding the confidence from the net out. |

Oh, you're still here? Maybe you should start thinking about what your team can do not to get swept in the first round. We'll worry about the Leafs. |

I wonder if the CBC will put all the Leafs games on national coverage next year. It would be awesome to give the Habs and Sens and Jets an equal share and make Toronto earn the prime slot again. |

He still has two years left, worry about it then. He can't even sign one until next summer at the earliest. |

They're not a not for profit company. They broadcast the Leafs because that's what people want to watch. |

If the ratings justify it, yes. Even Moreso now that the CBC's budget's being cut severely. Now it will be critical to show games to maximize viewership, not necessarily show the best performing teams. Sorry Sens fans, Harper's giving you the shaft. |

wasting your breath man.. fakepartofme is entirely negative about the team..
must be a pretty sad life to be so blindly negative - Dozzer
Says a moderator of a hockey blog site!
Just kidding.
But seriously, I'm just realistic.
Something you people should try.
I've never seen such a pathetic group of people....one minute you are loving this team; they're making the playoffs, you dont want to trade anyone because they have so much potential (or you want to trade spart parts for superstars) and they will be great in 5 - 8 years, our only downfall is the coach, we cant wait for them to make their post allstar run blah blah blah......meanwhile...every other hockey fan (ones without blue goggles) are telling you ...no...you're not that good, your players aren't that good, your blinded, wake up....
Grrrrr you say.... they're trolls and are only "hating".
Then
The inevitable losing streak happens.
OMG the world is grumbling. This team is so bad blah blah blah something must be done.
The coach is fired. Ok the team is saved....they will turn it around...here we go.
The team plummets even more.
Well that's ok...new system....they'll turn it around...Schenn will be star under this new system, the goalies will look better, the D will be better blah blah blah.
They plummet even more.....well they must throwing it.....it's too much of a coincidence...they are doing it on purpose...something seems suspicious....of course a week or so ago, there was this big blog about how players never tank.....blah blah blah....but now it must be on purpose.
So now it's, yes we want to lose...just so you dont look like fools.......again....for another season.
I'm not hating....but facts are facts.
It's the same old noise every year.
Its fun to watch and read dont get me wrong...I do get a kick out it....very groundhog day-ish.
But now that I've stepped back from Leaf nation to view it from a different perpective...I see what everyone else has for oh so many years....and it makes me smile.
So keep up the good work guys! |

I don't consider a bunch of unproven questionmark prospects "a lot of depth". I'm all for not bringing in this vet goalie for next year. We need to masturbate for Nate. |
