What a disaster of biblical proportions, an abomination, yeah it’s bad.

But...The sun still came out this morning, enjoy the weekend Leafers.

My point on that is build around your youth... those guys could be good if they are given an environment that has less pressure than what's currently going on...
- riceroni

yep i totally agree.

as much as i hate to say it, i think the leafs should consider moving Phaneuf - he just got worse and worse as the season went on, and didnt show any "captain" material for a long while.

Here is how to fix the Leafs...

1. Burke, swallow your pride and say your original plan failed but that you have a new plan that will take time but will be a rebuild based on how historically successful teams have done it.

2. Make some trades. Not all these guys but some of them have to be on the block prior to the draft. get prospects and quality picks for...
- Lupul (never going to have a greater value and won't be here / or as effective in 5 years when the Leafs can be a legit contender.
- MacArthur
- Reimer
- Phaneuf
- Kessel

3. Get rid of somehow
- Komiserak
- Army
- Conolley

4. Build around
- Gardiner
- Schenn (will bounce back)
- Frattin
- Kadri
- Gunner
- Biggs
- Percy

5. use the cap space to pitch for Parise and Suter...

6. trade some assets received that don't include your #1 pick for Schneider....

7... be patient...

- riceroni

Plan already failed.

Don't forget the Isles moved from 3 to 1 and took DiPietro. That's more indicative of the Leafs' drafting style.

You forgot about adding a top 5 pick this year (Galchenyuk?) and next year's #1 overall (McKinnon or the Finnish Russian). There's two cornerstone pieces to build around.

The best part was when I left just before the end of the second, then came back midway through the third and they had given up four more goals. Best part.

I'm going to disagree only because Gustavsson has been in the NHL for 3 years i believe it is now and still sucks ass. Unless he goes to a super team like the Canucks, Bruins, Blues and a couple other teams. His weaknesses will be exposed and he will still suck as bad as he has here the last 3 years.

I'm not going to say anything about reimer because at the end of the day he still hasn't completed a full NHL season. HOWEVER and i say HOWEVER did i mention HOWEVER, I don't want him as the starting goaltender going into next season, he needs a veteran to play behind so he can regain his confidence and hopefully play like he was at the end of the year last year and the start this year to give us a solid backup.

There isn’t a team in the league that wouldn’t want Kessel. The only issue is he is a high end complimentary piece, not the cornerstone. No point in dealing him unless you break the bank and if you do, great, if not, then you have a legit 30-40 goal scorer every year.

Making him the captain because he walked in and put on his music (Creed) in the dressing room was a HUGE mistake. Absolutely ridiculous - this guy shows no leadership quality.

Hey dozzer, tough to watch eh? Like I said last night, I didn't give it 100% in watching the game, I got booed and justifiably so when I got up to get a drink, I'm going through the motions on the couch to close out the season, I've mailed...er emailed it in.

I think there's 3 goalies slated for the first 2 rounds. Should be able to get 1 with the 2nd round pick. Either Vasil something (the Russian junior team goalie from last year) or little Subban.

As soon as I tuned in they were starting a PP down 2-0. They proceeded to waste the first 30 seconds circling their own net, then gained the zone, Phil's shot was blocked, and a 2-1 resulting in a shorty quickly ensued....click!

Yea...that was key to their victory last night. It was close because they started to get shots on net...but Carlyly quickly fixed that and they stopped shooting which allowed for more chances for the Flyers to score! It was a well organized victory for the Leafs last night.

When will Burke show his face again? He has to address the Leafs Nation sometime and take some questions. Burkie really needs to be a leader and tell fans what's up... The big problem for the Leafs is that there is no accountability.
