08/09. The year after rads left and we missed Sullivan for the full year
- bigpredfan

Nope!

Sullivan played the second half of that season. Let me break it down for you.

Preds made the playoff for the first time in 03'-04' when they aquired Sullivan at the deadline. They got beat by the Wings in the first round.

The lockout was in 04'-05'.

The team came out of the lockout and signed Paul Kariya along with Yanic Perrault in 05'-06'. They got beat by the Sharks in the first round.

In 06'-07', we had Arnott and Dumont. Forsberg was acquired at the deadline. Best Preds team to date. Sullivan went down with his back injury late in the season. They got beat in the first round again by the Sharks again. That was Radulov's rookie season.

In 07'-08', SULIVAN MISSED THE ENTIRE SEASON. They barely made the playoffs. The Arnott-Dumont-Radulov line was rockin'. We eaked into the playoffs on the like the last day (or very close to it) of the regular season. We lost to Detroit in the first round. It was a pretty good series until Radulov gave Arnott a concussion on a goal celebration!

Radulov defected in the off season. Up front we had Arnott, Dumont, Legwand, Erat, Tootoo, Bonk, Ortmeyer, Fiddler, Nichol, and...yeah...not a whole lot else. They only missed the playoffs by a few points. They were last in the division. The other four Central Division teams made the playoffs, including the Jackets.

oh, btw thanks c-bus. really helped us ALOT last night. the wings may be mad but they are 2 points closer to being caught. wins in regulation friday and any kind of win saturday and i say we end up 4th. having said that it wont happen. when we get to this same spot we never get across that hump.

I don't care who, how, where, or why, I just want to see this team play "Predator Style" hockey starting right now and from here on out!

This group has the ability/opportunity to be the best team in franchise history.

Regarding the mention earlier by someone here of when we almost lost our team (to Balsillie who resigned/was fired from his position not too long ago as RIMM CEO), this just in via WSJ:

"Research In Motion reported a $125 million loss in the fiscal fourth quarter, as it continues to struggle to turn around flagging sales of its BlackBerry smartphone and wrestles with a costly and so-far unsuccessful entry into the tablet market.

The company also said former co-Chief Executive Jim Balsillie has left its board of directors."

Has seen 85% to 90% (more, maybe?) of his RIMM stock fade away, no longer CEO and now off the board too. Karma. Turnabout is fair play you thieving, lying pos.

you guys scare me come playoff time.

Best Nashville team I saw in a while, but honestly i would have not been embarrassed to lose to NSH since about 2003ish. People are acting like NSH just came out of nowhere, but I felt Nashville has had a strong team for many years.

I agree that Josi is the biggest return. Erat has been missed. But Josi has been SORELY missed. Anything to reduce the Cube's ice time. He plays okay with Klein, but they have been paired sporadically & I think it's hurt his game. Hoping that Josi and Gill can get back into the good groove they had before the injury...at least in time for the playoffs to start.

Be interesting to see who Trotz sits with the team at full strength. Gotta skate 24 & 57 right now. They have earned their ice time. That means 22, 15 & 18 are probably the odd men out most nights unless Trotz really likes the matchup.

I'd roll these lines & take my chances:

10-12-74
47-11-27
46-13-24
33-28-57
6-20
75-59
8-51

There is ZERO reason to play 33 over 15.

Man Its hard for me to concur with siting number 15, I think hes not on the right line, maybe jumble him around on different lines, before benching him...
- PREDX1

I had no doubt you'd be eating crow. Rad's has already proved to be the most talented forward on this team.

I respectfully disagree. 33 is a good player. Last game he was coming off an injury. 15 is still young, a lot to learn. Both players are the future of Predator hockey

Don't think so. As a previous post pointed out, Wilson will be gone. And he'll excel on another team. Thanks, Trotz

Wilson - 15G 19A 34P +3 in 67 games
Smith - 13G 20A 33P -12 in 70 games

I'd say there's a pretty good argument for going with Wilson.

I agree with you. Wilson deserves to play over Smith and I don't even know how that's debatable. Wilson was benched last year in the playoffs, hopefully he won't be this year.

I second that. The only problem I could see is the 4th line. I know 57 brings the energy and 28 has the grit but can 33 hang with the type of game those two play?
- BoroPredsFan

Before 33 got hurt he made that third line into a threat. 22
was actually playing well because of him IMO. I say start 33
but it doesn't look like it. How about 49 instead of 51

I stay with 51 for another game or so, IF Josi back to play with 75. that puts 8 and 51 together which seems to fit them both well.
