As much as a fan i am of Roy, the player, after seeing how my two other favorite hab players in Gainey and Carbo did in their terms as coach and GM, i am a little hesitant in wanting him to have any part of anything to do with this club. Gonna be great to watch my 3 fav habs of all time send the habs even deeper and further into the hockey abyss. - Prolific_Scorer
I'm not so scared about Roy as a coach.
Gainey had a good plan that was working. Carbonneau could have coached that team for years. Then the Centennial year mess came in and he panicked.
Whoever they hire, they gotta choose a plan, stick by it and avoid all panic decisions like the 2 most recent coach firings. |

Im not so sure about either of these, just not how i saw it all unfold. Carbo didnt have the experience and didnt explain himself or what he wanted from his players enough, he admitted this himself once he was let go. Wasnt a fan of Gainey's vision of how a team should be run either. Hide away from the press and not answer their concerns on a regular basis and allow them to speculate their info instead and make it a 3 ring circus was a bad idea. So was not signing players during the season, a very archaic manner to run a team, and it just wont do in this information era.
If you dont give the press and the fans what they want, which is answers, the press will simply speculate and make it up, whip it into a frenzy, beat it to death, and if they say it often enough, most people, being human, will begin to believe it. Even when Gainey held press conferences, that twice a year, he was very vague and often sarcastic towards the press an creating even more unneeded problems for himself. |

There are so many better coaches then Carbo. He had passion but that is not enough. He is not a motivator and has terrible communication skills. Patrick Roy is miles ahead of him and he has been coaching and learning for 7 years. Therrien and Hartley or an up and coming new coach will be better. |

Why is his name always popping up? Isn't it common knowledge that he sucks as a human being? |

Pacioretty is currently having a better season than Perron has ever had, if you wanna talk about numbers.
OH and sure, the habs always knock vets off their comfy top line spot to make room for youth, that's a well-known fact. - PRICEless
