If you have no way / no one to use that money, then it is not really an issue, except to the bottom line profitability of the team.

the worst part is most of the french journalists speak english. in fact, most of them also tweet in english. i don't understand what the problem is. the fans? (frank) you can't read subtitles or a translation 2 minutes after he's done talking?

Ya it is rediculous, but w/e, I assume Fido or Qp will Chime in soon with something about the Anglo Oppresion and the lose of French heritage in the youth today.

My guess is they already have their guy. And they will announce it as soon as possible.

They need to have something to sell to their season tickets holders.

- Pecafan Fan

BWAHAHAHAHAHA.

Like they will ever have an issue with worrying about season ticket holders.

Yeah, Juice. It would be terrible to see them make a mistake and hire the wrong GM or coach.

I sense sarcasm.

I'm of the beliefe that it's always better for the league when Montreal and Toronto are icing competative teams, and I respect the heck out of the Candiens franchise and do not enjoy seeing them suck like so many typical fans hope for against the Habs/Leafs/Bruins etc...

As much as some make it a big deal that he needs to speak french and that "it shortens the list", I don't think it's that much of a problem either.

As if it was impossible to have a french speaking GM and coach that can build a hockey team... come on...

RDS keeps talking about how many seat were empty the last 2 games....some corporate boxes had nobody in them. Montreal is NOT Toronto, going to see a losing hockey team is not trendy in Montreal...unlike Toronto

What language they speak doesn't prevent them from building a team.

But looking at it this way, Tortorella was out of a job when the Habs were thinking about firing Carbo. Torts signed With the Rangers the week before Carbo was fired.

Do you think Tortorella would have ever been on the minds of the organization to coach the habs?

A lot will have to do with what they do this summer.

Which is why I said they have to move, and move quickly.

They still made money on the seats, and it doesn't mean the are going to give up those seats next year.

Remember before the lock out?

The Bell Center was almost never full. The lock out and a big marketing push by the Habs made it full. Now that they are at the bottom of the standings, people stop caring and showing up to games. And that's just 1 season.

If they aren't any better next year, what do you think will happen?

no but it means the demand for Habs tickets is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY down, you couldn't get tickets a year ago without overpaying big time.
