He let his scouts pick it,as he was only recently named.
Also, Giroux was his guy, but trusted one of his scouts who wrote a book on Fischer. He's the one who's making the calls in the first few rounds now... |

From what I read, it was the organization that pushed to draft a defenseman.
Timmins wanted Giroux.
He's not perfect, but he drafted very well in the last couple of years.
He just needs a GM that won't keep trading his good young players like Mcdonaugh and that will keep some 2nd round picks instead of getting Dominic Moore again. |
