Not so much anymore...
Being separatist isn't popular nowadays.
In their heart they are, but unlike the other group, they will wait the right time for the next référendum.
A big problem with the separatist movement is that they can't really explain to the people what happens after the vote passes. What's up with the currency? Who protects our natural ressources(we'd have no army)?
Will Canada attack us and try to regain the land? (Rumors out there that the canadian army was ready to go if the votes had passed)
There are many others too, and seriously they don't even know. If they had a plan, that would really help.. - QuebecPride

Canada would make Quebec pay their debt back before letting them seperate even if a referendum passes.
Can't really believe that anyone with half a brain thinks that province could survive on it's own - habs12
I know Jean Charest isn't seen as a genious, but he's pro-Federal, and he has said in the past that he thinks this province has a good enough economy to survive.
En visite à Paris, le premier ministre du Québec déclare que la province a tout ce qu'il faut pour réaliser l'indépendance, mais que ce serait contre son intérêt Oui, nous avons les moyens. Personne ne remet en question la capacité du Québec financièrement

Hmm, we have one of the biggest clean water reserve in the world, a huge amount of natural ressources. You don't think some countries will want to own these?
If they do it the american way, we'd get invaded quite fast my friend...
We'd need an army, even if it is just an apparel, to make them think twice...

Actually, the 'Bas-Canada' (Québec back then), took over all the debts of the Haut-Canada (Ontario) when they merged together, because unlike Québec, Ontario had no buildings and had to pay for them, the bill was split between the two provinces...

In all honesty I can't see how they survive on there own. What happens with the native communities. They will want their own lands and resources. Nothing good will ever come from this.

They wouldn't. With out the oil in the west, Canada would be bankrupt like the USA.

But why do you say we'd have no army??
We have one now, right. We would have one after a vote.
Just a smaller one (20-25%, exactly what we're paying for now).
Do you really think we would leave all of the current army to our canadian friends? Same with the Postal services and the prisons? Seriously?
We would share the 'actif et passif' and go from there.
If you don't know how it works, don't assume nobody knows...

When I told you there were too many unanswered questions...
But I don't agree, there would be many good advantages about it.
We could actually spend in some departments that really mean something to us.
I know I've spoken about the army earlier, but this isn't really a popular subject in Québec. Nor is the petrol exploitation. Long guns either...
Oil and natural gas aren't limited to the west - habs12
Its true. Newfoundland would hold them by the scrawny hair of their nuts....the cigarette flavoured ones weirdoh wasn't already grasping with all his might.

No you said that the good 'Q players were scoring more in this very league because the level was worst than the rest, I proved you wrong.
Now stfu. - QuebecPride
I was talking in general, so if the q players can't even score 100 points in a watered down pathetic league like the Q, then they are in worst shape then everr before
