Feels so good to see Eric skating with the team. He was the reason I became a Flyers fan and from India of all places. One year as a 4th line center sounds terrific. With some conditioning, he looks like he can still play.

After Hextall, he is my favorite all time Flyer and it's pretty close. LeClair and Roo are certainly up there as well.

I hated how the whole thing went down in 2000 and it's great to see him hang with the O and B again.

I know I am way leight, however, I am really comfortable with who ever is in the line up. This team is made to win. This team won't give up. I love the heart. It wasn't here a year ago. If the team last year had the heart of this year, they would have they would have won the cup. I honestly believe that.

Something that came out at practice yesterday is that the Flyers may have violated NHL rules in their handling of Marc-Andre Bourdon's "concussion-like symptoms" several weeks ago.

When questioned by Tim Panaccio about how he was feeling and when he sustained the concussion, Bourdon claimed repeatedly that he "couldn't remember" when the actual concussion happened but admitted that he started feeling headaches, hoped they'd go away as he kept playing, but only got worse.

Bourdon refused the budge on the assertion that he didn't know when it happened or whether the symptoms arose while he was with the Flyers on his previous recall or with the Phantoms.

But here's the thing: Bourdon didn't play at all for the Phantoms -- until very recently --- after the Flyers sent him down. The concussion-like symptoms were first acknowledged by the Flyers shortly after he was sent down, which is why he was sidelined until the game in Syracuse on March 17. Prior to that, his most recent game with the Phantoms was on Nov. 20 before his initial recall to Philly.

So what we have here is one of two possible scenarios:

1) Bourdon kept quiet about his concussion symptoms. The Flyers had no idea the player was experiencing worsening headaches before he was sent to the minor leagues. He then admitted the injury to the Phantoms.

2) The Flyers did know about Bourdon's condition prior to sending him down. That would be a violation of NHL rules, as teams are not allowed to demote an injured player to the minor leagues. A motive to try to do it would be that the team was about to trade for Nicklas Grossmann and, for cap reasons, wanted to get Bourdon off the roster rather than placing him on injured reserve.

Would there be a penalty that comes out of this if the Flyers are found "guilty" by the NHL?

On a side note- good job Panotch

I would think that if they backdated Bourdon back onto the FLyers roster if it put them over the cap they'd have forfeits. But I don't know how the numbers add up. Perhaps MJL can shed some light.

Agreed... the team is contructed more as a team that plays for one another. I think the rookies need a year or two of playoff seasoning at least before we make a run, but the real positive is that we are in the dance, they get to learn what that's like and we'll make our run sooner. Also, anything can happen. If Bryz is ok, gets his groove back, and we get healthy.. anything can happen... I'd love to have that 4 seed vs Pitt.

Agreed. Sportscenter was pretty much my only source for information back then living in India. I was shocked listening to how Eric was found in the tub in the hotel room. Hockey Nights on ESPN were awesome. I didn't know the schedule before hand and I used to pray for the Flyers to be playing.

It was awesome getting up in the mornings to watch hockey. I once faked being ill so I could skip school to watch the Flyers. I had a final the day of the 5OT classic. I missed most of it but was surprised to come back and find out the game was still going on and was able to watch the best part of it - Primeau score.

I honestly couldn't tell anyone anything about this situation. I really don't know.

But my gut feeling is that it's a whole lot about nothing. But who knows. Cap Circumvention if it exists, is a serious thing.

If they were found to have circumvented the Cap, I think the result would be far more then just a nice fat fine.

I honestly think that is the best match up. They will bring out the best in us. We will play our best, win or lose. If we can get through them, we can get through anyone.

Beating the Pens en route to the cup is definitely a lot sweeter than beating the panthers.

It was 3 hours. Add 30 mins or so of commute each way and yeah, i was back in time for the 5th OT.

Cup maybe, I'm just saying if we come through the first round beating them, then we are playing our best hockey.

Sure.. no arguments there. It would be nice to avenge the conference finals loss from 07-08 and the ECQF loss the next season.

Agreed.. Talbot has the secret to beating them and will share it with the boys. Interesting thing is I think the first time they beat us in a playoff series was in 08.

In honor of the Big E taking a morning skate with the team, I'd thought I'd post one of my favorite Lindros videos while waiting for the game.

Normally I would say that's crazy, but I believe you are right. We can win it all if...IF.. our team is healthy enough and really wants it. And I think they do.
