I'm thinking Okposo and #1 or a #2 for Dustin Brown and one of their defesemen.

These are all the types of trades that will be discussed only if they can not sign one of the big UFA's on the mkt..or 2.

Well, it is sort of a crazy thing when losses do you more good than wins, but your team wins when it should lose and loses when it should win, if that makes any sense at all

seriously.. not very difficult to understand is it? We can't make the playoffs. Why do we want to win instead of getting a better draft pick? Look at the last 3 drafts... top 3 picks are a pretty big difference from the next 5.

all aboard, the bailey band wagon has pulled up. Jump on board guys.

Sorry boys but i took alot abuse when i was telling you Bailey was only 22, and has tons of upside. Everyone wanted him traded.

Now that he on a line with better players, everyone suddenly knew that would be what he needed.

Nino will be just fine too. Dont worry. Just dont give up on him too soon either. He is only 19.

- Spartiarti

Dude Bailey still sucks. I dont care what he does when he is playing for nothing and there is no pressure on him. If he plays like this all year next year then you have something to talk about, not because he played well for two weeks

You'll need to make a trade like this at the draft..if they wind up picking in the 7-10 slot a trade of a high pick for an established player should be seriously considered.

Dont worry Snow and Wang have a plan in place. They will get some undersized defensie man or another center who might be something big. I have total faith in them. Gee Louise we cant even lose right, this team is bad all around

Nah he sucks! He still reminds me of Comeau when Comeau when he noticed he was out of a playoff race he poured it on. Bailey has great hands but I want to see him do that all season not just two weeks. NExt year will be the same story. We will be bashing him all over agian and then the last few weeks he will show up. Sorry still not NHL caliber to me

WE need losses more than wins right now.

We are getting further away from a top 5 pick.

That is unacceptable...

One or Two points can cause us to lose a premium STUD!!!!!

I think it's also a "fool me once, fool me twice" thing too. All, or at least most, of us were drunk with thoughts of what this season was going to be based on the nice run they had late last season. I made the mistake of obsessing over the individual stats at the end of the year and severely overestimating players based solely on that (5 20+ goal scorers, etc.). But a lot of those players' points were put up in no-pressure situations. So now I'm definitely more skeptical. Okposo's a 20-goal scorer now. That's great. But he's still the same frustrating player who for most of the year tried to dance around people instead of barreling through them like he should, in the same way that Comeau was a 20+ goal scorer last year, but still the same perimeter player who more often than not won't drive to the net and therefore won't be there when you need him in tight-checking, important games.

I put a lot of stock in Comeau's 24 goals last season, and that was sort of foolish in retrospect. I'm not putting as much stock in Okposo's 20+ this season. Heck, if these guys show up in October and November and continue to put on a show like this, I'll be thrilled and happy for them. I'm just not getting my hopes up. Haven't seen them win the ones that matter yet, and Tavares seems to be the only forward that looks the same out there when team's 6 points back as he does when they're too far back to matter.

We have done this before... .comparing Bailey who is 90% of the time the first guy backchecking in his own Zone to Blake Comeau makes Zero sense. Blake and Bailey could not be more different. Blake NEVER went to the front of the net.. ever.. He Never backchecked.. ever .. You guys HATE Bailey.. I get it. It is stupid.. but I get it. He is a good hockey player. He back checks, he is a very good penalty killer, he has very good vision, and has shown signs that he can put the puck in the net when given the oportunity. .. and oh yeah.. he is 22 years old.

i don't hate bailey i have been dissapointed in him..their is a difference...it is clear though that he is better as a wing...but the reason him and KO are scoring is because they are getting to the dirty areas...scoring ugly goals. That is what they need to do.....moving forward they need to keep getting to the paint and i hope they will be fine..with that being said if ko nielsen and bailey was our THIRD line we would be a playoff team..thats on snow to get a legit second line

I don't think anyone "wants" the Isles to lose games, it would just be better for the team if they did at this point, considering that they are closer to a top three pick in the draft than a playoff spot right now.

I can never actively cheer for them to "lose", but you have to understand the frustration some people, like me, have. Its maddening that when the team had a chance to get into the top 8 and a playoff spot, they couldn't win a game to save their lives. It took until January and February for some of these players to start producing. Now, when the playoffs are out of reach, there is no pressure to win and when losing would actually help secure a better draft pick, the players who did nothing all year start to play well and the team starts winning.

Its not that people are "unhappy" the team is winning, they're just frustrated that, just like last year, this team didn't start to win any games and a lot of guys didn't start to play well until the season was effectively over.

Bailey has been doing that all year. He was on a line with BUMS for most of the year. I just see the effort when he is on the ice. KO is someone that I am dissapointed in b/c he has more talent, size and skill than a lot of guys on this team, but I don't see the heart (Blake C). If Okposo feels like playing you can see how good of a player he can become. This is usually when he has the puck in the offensive zone. He is INVISIBLE in his own end and 99% of the time is the last guy back in his zone. Maybe I just pay attention to backchecking more than other guys... Okposo has cost us a TON of goals this year by doing his Drama bit in the offensive zone looking for a call instead of hustling back when he loses the puck. The way he played in the Minn game is how he should play every game. He was 110% every shift in that game. He looked like a man posessed. That is who Okposo should be... don't know if it is coaching or need one of the players to call him out on his sht.. but he needs to get better next year.

All of these guys are still very very young and I am not giving up on any of them (especially Nino).. I just vent on their issues on here when I see them... call it therapy.

As much as I did not really want them to win the game last night b/c of the draft. I was at the game and so was a million annoying Pens fans that went home angry. It was worth it to shut them up.

Really?? cause I know there are some that don't think he should make that kinda money, BUT you we're talking PA to Zack... and if I remember correctly all fans say and know that we're far from the cap ceiling, and you're talking world class athlete Zach Parise with far superior talent & work ethic to PA, and what fans on here would care about Zack making that much over a guy like PA? they aren't the ones paying him. I'd really like to see which fan on here for any team that would rather have PA over Zack. and lets remember we're working under you're "assuming all things equal" Where's the fans that would be upset at having Zack over PA for $2.5 mill more (your #'s) or even $4.5 more(my wise@ss #) I don't even think there's a GM in the League that wouldn't take Zack over PA for $2.5 more, so as I originally stated... Why even bring it up?

Hell it wouldn't surprise me if some fans on here that would choose Zack at $10 mil a year over PA at $2 mill

And no Xx I don't believe you'd take PA over Zack at a 2.5 mil difference but you'd say it to be a wise@ass

- Killer' Carlson

"I don't even think there's a GM in the League that wouldn't take Zack over PA for $2.5 more, so as I originally stated... Why even bring it up?"

you first sentence answers your second sentence. i brought it up because you dont THINK there is a GM that wouldnt take ZP over PA even having to pay more for ZP.

personally, i agree. its a non-issue but i do know there are people out there who have a hardon for PAP (i personally dont care for the guy and wouldnt pay him more than 3.5) and would sign him over ZP if the numbers are skewed enough
