im all for the rebuild but your joking about them taking steps forward right? this season was an utter failure and steps were taken back. granted next year the young guys will be a year older and stronger but that is nature...nothing to do with the team.

this season was a HUGE failure...definitely no steps forward.

Really?? cause I know there are some that don't think he should make that kinda money, BUT you we're talking PA to Zack... and if I remember correctly all fans say and know that we're far from the cap ceiling, and you're talking world class athlete Zach Parise with far superior talent & work ethic to PA, and what fans on here would care about Zack making that much over a guy like PA? they aren't the ones paying him. I'd really like to see which fan on here for any team that would rather have PA over Zack. and lets remember we're working under you're "assuming all things equal" Where's the fans that would be upset at having Zack over PA for $2.5 mill more (your #'s) or even $4.5 more(my wise@ss #) I don't even think there's a GM in the League that wouldn't take Zack over PA for $2.5 more, so as I originally stated... Why even bring it up?

Hell it wouldn't surprise me if some fans on here that would choose Zack at $10 mil a year over PA at $2 mill

If its a 2.5 difference it depends.. but chances are id take Zach... but My biggest question is this... why would it have to be one or the other... Why come FA time.. would Snow have to choose Zach or PA?

P.S. Im not completely sold on ZP anyway... I have seen TOO MANY "star" players come up through the Devils system that are awesome, but once they are out of said system & on other teams they become "good" players. Im not saying it will happen to Zach, but no one thought it would happen to Gomez, or Holik.

He does love it here and he loves his teammates, I hope he resigns at a reasonable cost but I don't trust his agent and even thou I've spoken to PA far too many times I don't believe he'll know untill that time comes

I've talked him a couple times as well and he told me the same thing. What is he going to tell a fan? "I (frank)ing hate Long Island and this damn team?" He is going to go for the money, he'd be an idiot not too. He will get ridiculous offers and you can bet on him taking it and it won't be because of his agent that you don't trust.
