"It's been great," Rolston said. "This team has been very welcoming, as far as the players. I've been other places where I've been traded to and that's not really the case, and that's what makes this team pretty special."

He has 8 points in the past 2 games..............Do we all of a sudden forget prior to those 2? Without this 2 game surge he would have 5 less points than last year and still have played 5 more games. As I've said over and over again, the numbers mean NOTHING to me. It's when they're attained.

perfect than ill go back to my original comment of:

"ill disagree with that...i think he showed a TON of effort and he pretty much performed in every aspect of the game EXCEPT the most important part, putting up points.

but to say his forechecking, PK, even physical didnt take a big step in the right direction is not fair to JB"

if points mean "NOTHING" to you than quite frankly bailey has had a monster year in terms of development....

i like this quote

"He appeared to be miserable in New York and was being underutilized by the Islanders."

i must have a misunderstanding of the word "underutilized"-- if it doesnt mean 2nd line wing and 1st line power play than i need an updated dictionary.

Actually I said the NUMBERS mean nothing, not the actual points. I'd rather him score 20 points that mean something over a certain time period than 50 points in the month of March when the team is out of it.

The douche is only playing :43 more per game since being traded to Boston. What an a-hole!

Eh who cares about him. He could put up 200 points with Boston and I wouldn't care. I've stepped in dog crap with more hockey sense than him.

That's all I'm asking for is consistency. I don't expect him to take over games on a nightly basis, never did. And of course he's going to have streaks where he doesn't put up points consistently, everyone does. Just don't make it from October through February.
- BringBackBalky

I would consider a 50-60 point season good for Bailey and be totally happy with that.

He sux.. he is on a very good team with very good players. He still stinks and if they continue to count on him come playoffs it will cost them dearly.

but as for NINO-- the isles should have looked at what the flyers did with SC. they too put him on the 4th line to try to ease him into the league and get the physical and forechecking game down pat. the reason why the flyers are smart with how they developed SC as opposed to the isles with nino is simple, Zac Rinaldo.

SC at any given time knew that if he made a big hit or did something him knowing that someone had his back at any given time no matter what he did, helped him give the confidence to let loose on the opposition and hit/check/be aggressive at will.

had the isles stuck haley with nino throughout the entire season, i guarantee nino would be significantly more physical and aggressive because he would have had what SC, which is a teammate that will be there in case he screws up and the opposition comes after him. something tells me marty reasoner and jay pandolfo dont have the same intimidation factor as zac rinaldo or michael haley....what could have been!!

- LetsGoIsles

I think you also would have to compare the Flyers fourth line with the Isles fourth line. Reasoner and Pandawful are not a recipe for success

Forgetting the obvious hilarity of this picture...did NHL teams really give out bath robes to their players back in the day?

As for Bailey what pressure the pressure to perform. Listen I know you say they were out of it the third week of the season. It hink they were out after the first game but as the season winded down and we were definitely not making the playoffs the stress was lifted off everyones shoulders to perform. Now they can play relaxed cause they are now playing for nothing. This team does that every year. Beginning of the year no one knows how to play hockey and then the last couple of weeks everyone gets it makes no sense. He showed me nothing basically all year. I hope he continues into next year and then yeah I will love him but I am not falling fast for this guy after a couple of weeks

Maybe Isles should start training camp and simulated games in June, this way by October, they THINK it's near the end of the season and play this way from Opening Night. At this point....I'd try just about anything.

He spoke down about the Devils in his last season and after being signed to the Isles - apparantly the $5mil Lou was paying him didn't make up for his lost ice and PP shifts. He thinks he's still 25 and actually has something left to contribute. That or maybe the sticks the Boston players receive are free of defects and the shooters actually hit what they're aiming for. (not to start a conspiracy theory).
Either way, he's gone. Funny - the Isles played better after Roloson's departure last year and after Rolston this year. HEY GARTH....SEE A TREND??? STOP SIGNING OLD FARTS. WE HAVE A YOUNG TEAM. TAKE OFF THE TRAINING WHEELS AND LET 'EM RUN!!!!!!!!!

Nino was not ready for the NHL no matter who you put around him or what line he is on. Playing with JT is not going to stop have from falling down all the time. Playing with JT is not going to improve his balance. Bottom line is he is only 19 yrs old and should have stayed in juniors. From the few games I've see of SC he is a better skater and at this stage he is just an all around better player then Nino. Not saying Nino can't be a stud or better then SC down the road. Nino is so in over his head its comical. Almost as comical as some of the guys on here who think he isn't producing because of who he plays with. All you have to do is watch him out there and you know he doesn't belong. Get him down to BP next year and let him develop the right way

He appeared to be miserable in New York and was being underutilized by the Islanders. Rolston struggled and he was finally traded back to Boston on Feb. 27.

Where does this crap come from? This guy got way more ice time than he deserved. At even strength and on the power play.

I like this one even better.....
"I've just been given a great opportunity, the coaches have shown a lot of confidence in me in certain situations that gives me confidence as a player. ... I've produced over my career and you know whatever happened in Long Island happened in Long Island and it's past that now."

Did Bruins conduct an Alzheimer's test on this guy? Schmucks got an awful short memory. How many times did he completely miss the net on PP's this year? Not to mention even strength? I bet I'd score more playing with the Bruins than with the Islanders but I guarantee my SOG percentage would be higher than this bum on either team. F'in good riddance. Can't wait to boo his sorry ass at the Coliseum. Hope he coughs up a puck in the playoffs from the blueline on a PP that costs the Bruins the game/series. See how welcomed he is after that.
