Does anyone else get the impression that D Sedin and Ballard will both be available just in time for Game 1? - AlexF
I am pretty sure they will be ready even before game 1.
I am also getting the impression from AV that Manny will be missing games in the PO because his eye is still bothering him. I think Reinprecht, Ebbett, Duco, and Bitz will all be available when cap and waivers do not matter anymore.
But that line was clicking really nice before Danny got hurt... so it seems Higgins is the main piece to any of those lines... the question is... do you want the 2nd line getting chances and putting up goals... or the 3rd line?
Id rather the 2nd line be clicking... not sure why Burrows on the 3rd wouldnt be a better option.
We were literally just saying a couple weeks ago how we dont want to seperate the 2nd line... - kneughter
I think come playoff the lines will look something like this

I agree....you're gonna see a lot of call-ups come the end of the season. All hands on deck!
Was watching the Jets game earlier. The Peg got the first 5 PPs of the game, Tortarella then goes ape on one of the refs, magically NY get the next 5 PPs. - AlexF
Then you should have watched a little harder . After torts blew up at the end of the first the rangers got the next two penalties call on them .All penalties were just in that game , just a few missed no big deal

David Booth, although he has been good, needs to find some finish (and I don't mean in a fight). He had several opportunities to put the Canucks up a goal or two last night and couldn't capitalize. Same with Kesler. If that starts happening, the team won't find themselves in so many close games.

That and a PP that resembles any sort of organization. That is one of the positives I will take away from this team so far this year. They can win ugly 1-0 games and they are not completely reliant on their PP like last year. The team is full of players that have a proven track record of being able to score and being able to dominate on the PP. If they can find a way to get the offence to click as well as being able to gut out tight games, they will be very tough to beat in a 7 game series.

You are only allowed 4 emergency call ups until your AHL team is done for the season... then you can call up everybody. They have to be careful and not waste it all on 4rth line wingers.

A short handed single goal game or a single goal game won on a flukey shot by Malholtra doesnt convince me of anything. Canucks are getting outplayed and the goalies are stealing the shows... That convinces me that we are in trouble in the scorig department with the playoffs 5 games from now.

This becomes even more alarming when you see which teams we've shut out this year.
Luongo has shut out:
Wild (2)
Kings
Blues
Schneider has shut out:
Avalanche (2)
Phoenix
They have one extra shared shutout against the Avalanche.
These are some of the worst offensive teams in the league. The 1-0 strategy won't hold up against the elite teams. We better start scoring.

[quote=micah555]Don't be such a Richard. He misses once, manages to land 3 while missing another uppercut and then misses over the top to end the fight.

He missed once to start the fight, landed 4 in the middle, then although he missed with the last punch, it was the take down punch. So I'll say he missed once and landed 5 times.

The propaganda states that this is how you play those teams....grind it out...low scoring..except the Canucks are giving up double the amount of shots. As far as I can see....they are abandoning scoring but defensive play is still weak...
43 shots against last night...Canucks had 22.... this is not a grinding defensive game at all.

It almost looked at first like Booth was reluctant to fight the kid but Oliver already dropped the gloves.
Fixed.
Someone posted this link to a Vancouver Sun article a month or two ago. http://vansunsportsblogs....anevs-demonic-possession/
Based on the info in this article (which is 2 months old) anybody who plays with Tanev will be a decent pairing. Excellent prospect. Canadian kid. Great scouting by the Canucks.
Nick Jensen has a 3A night as the Gens tie up the series against the Ice Dogs 2-2.
Speaking of the Ice Dogs,,,the Canucks have another offensive prospect in this series. Alex Friesen had a hat trick and a assist in game one, two assists in game 2, 1 assist in game 3 and another assist in game 4.
8 points in 4 games for Alex Friesen. He's hot...
Unfortunitly one of the two players won't make it to the second round.

Friesen is also known as a solid two-way center and definitely an annoying little agitator althout he does have some skill and speed. The only knock on him is his size but he is definitely gritty and has even been called a dirty player. Remind you of someone?
Jensen and Grenier both seem like players who step it up in the playoffs which is nice to see in a young, talented prospect.

Wasn't Cody brought up to the big team from Brampton during the playoffs? Or did he make a stop in Winnipeg on the way up?
Not saying one of these players makes the jump but the team might bring them in to experience the playoff atmosphere. Better off for them to be playing. But it's a nice carrot to dangle for a young player.

He went to the Calder Cup final with the Moose in his draft year after a long OHL playoff run. I don't remember him with the Canucks in the playoffs before last year. I could be wrong...
