Not being a homer but I have difficulty envisioning a Schneider loss these days. Especially one that gives up more than 2 goals.

I like Ian's prediction: 3-2 Canucks in either a SO or OT.

Let the playoffs start already! These games are tedious to say the least.

- AlexF

Schneider's not unbeatable and Colorado is fighting for their very lives and jobs and our offense has not looked good at all since Daniel went down. I don't see us being able to out score the Avs and plus we haven't played all that well at home lately.

In Schneider's only legit loss since Christmas, he let in 1 goal and the Canucks were shut out. That's pretty damn near unbeatable...

Having said that, I think we get shelled tonight by a team that had a heart transplant around the deadline.

We could talk about the Leafs being eliminated from play off contention.

Or the massive increase in depression and other related mental illnesses in the Greater Toronto Area around this time. There's your conspiracy why the Leafs don't make the playoffs! It's not that they suck, it's that the psychiatrists and psychologists and therapists don't want to give up their money tree!

There really isn't too much more to talk about until the playoffs start. Truth be told we've been waiting since Oct for this part of the season to start.

It was a tongue in cheek remark to my comments you noted as they were in response to hawk fans chirping me a la Keith on Sedin....

Contrary to popular belief, the Maple Leaves don't suck.

It's just that someone in the organization broke a mirror during the lockout and won't fess up. Now that they've missed the playoffs for 7 consecutive years, the back luck's over and they'll get the results they deserve next season.

I dunno, I think someone in the organization was drunk and broke every mirror in a funhouse because I don't see their luck changing anytime soon.

This is what is wrong in Leaf nation. BB, and therefore the Leafs, are ruled by ego. Burke imagines that his education and experience has put him in a position where he knows better than everyone else, and his dictatorship has furthered the poor performance of this once proud organization. Professional sports are no different than any other business, at least in that the organization's leadership needs to encourage creativity and innovation among its managers and employees in order to excel.

Now, honestly... Do you not see that same level of ego & arrogance from Gillis? I sure do.

I think Gillis is more open to the idea that the people around him have good ideas too. I agree that Gillis does come across as "confident" (read arrogant), but his reliance on various teams within the organization suggest to me that he is less of a dictator behind closed doors. The fact that he has convinced Aquilini to spend more than any other franchise on player development says a lot. Not saying that Gillis and Burke are polar opposites, only that MG leads his organization whereas Burke manages his. Just my opinion, never met either of them.
