not to change subject or anything, but i have not had a chance lately to post and some of you may have already discussed this but i wanted to comment my thoughts on prongers sighting the other night...

to me the guy look like he has suffered some serious brain damage, to me it looked like he had no clue where he was, and a little deranged.

i live near a va hospital and theres lot of vets there that roam around and live there because of heavy brain trauma, and chris reminded me of this.

i really feel bad for the guy because he did not look good imo, and it looked like a infinte change hat wont go away from healing

we all seen guys who have had concussions and he looks to have something different, almost like some kind of degenerate brain disease.

most guys ive seen after concussions look serious or pissed off, he looked like he had a brain of a child.

I think he looked like any other player that get's standing ovations for whatever reason; both flattered and somewhat embarrassed being in the spotlight. It's not like he was drooling or anything. If you remember, he was interviewed several times during and after the 'virus'-incident, and then he seemed like good ol' Pronger.

As far as I could tell he looked a little embarrassed at the attention but otherwise just like Chris Pronger...but with glasses.

Only a chip fracture for Bryzgalov, and another injury for Timonen. Slow day on the injury front. Only 2 guys down? I DEMAND MORE INJURIES!

It's become comical at this point.

Before Bryzgalov, who is the last goalie to suffer a chip fracture in the foot during a pregame warmup? I'm sure the list must be extensive.

If it's a chip fracture to a weight bearing bone, good look seeing him this weekend.

- PLindbergh31

What's your point? That Holmgren must have had a laser chip fracture gun pointed at Bryz. You act as though there's something the Flyers do to cause this or could do to prevent it. I think you should have realized you have weak achilles and prevented your full tear. See how silly that sounds?

Pronger was off limits to the media, and I think someone reported he left after the second period after not feeling well.
- PLindbergh31

Someone here said they'd seen that tweeted, but couldn't come up with the tweet. So you'll forgive me for considering that not a particularly reliable report.

And it was his first time out for any length of time, so I can imagine it was a bit overwhelming. The only legit reporting that night was that he was planning to go to P'burgh this week to see the docs and hoped to be cleared to start rehabbing.

Jake's fault.

Philadelphia Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov has a chip fracture in his right foot, will not play Thursday in Toronto, and is listed by the team as day to day.

Flyers General Manager Paul Holmgren said the injury happened in pre-game warm-ups Monday, when a Jakub Voracek shot hit Bryzgalov in the foot.

"Obviously when you're dealing with something like this, it might be too painful to skate on Friday, but we'll see. He doesn't feel that bad today. We'll see how it is. It's not a thing that surgery is required; it's nothing like (James) van Riemsdyk's broken foot or anything like that. It's a chip off a weight-bearing bone, and the doctor has said it'll be absorbed back into his system, the little chip that's in there, and there's no real risk here at all. It's just he's in a little bit of pain right now.

Before I go read the article Bill, what is up with the spelling of this guys last name? NHL.com has it with 1 "n" in their photo captions and elsewhere, but you (and others on here) spell it with 2.

the real spelling is nn but he never made a fuss about it

flyers personnel noticed the correct spelling on his passport and offered to change it for him on his jersey

Yeah. Had to look it up. Of COURSE it's a gaming reference.
- bodiva88

it's not a gaming reference in this instance, but rather a movie reference, specifically The Beastmaster. 1982.

Neither of us are gamers.

it's not a gaming reference at all. it's a reference to the beastmaster, a fine 1980s movie starring Marc Singer and Tanya Roberts.

Dear God.. just seeing that Bryz has the fracture. Hopefully Homer's assessment is correct and it's not too bad/he can play in the playoffs.

Still don't understand how this happened. Goalie skates are very well padded unless he got hit on the side of the skate in warmup.

I expect Bacon chihuahua gets the call as backup.

- Hextall271

they're not that padded. in fat, most of the instep cowling is gone on the current skates. i took a stinger off my left foot on sunday. first time in ages i got hit there. warm ups, too.

It's out there. I'll grant you that. Means little to nothing about the product on the ice though. Same as Crosby's situation when he was out.
