Somewhere Dave Babych and his foot just let out a chuckle, though that silly mustache of his muffled the sound to a degree.

Frank Zappa? What's he got to do with anything?

Well, FWIW, Holmgren says they don't think the injury is serious and they are hopeful that Bryz will be practicing by Friday and available for the weekend.

Well, so far, everything I have read says a chip fracture is a 3-4 week injury at minimum. However, I doubt the Flyers are as concerned with fully healed as they are with capable of playing through pain.

I don;t fault him, either, but he wasn't as sharp as he has been and he certainly wasn't as aggressive as he had been over the past month or so.
- Jsaquella

Just happens that his worse game (4 quality goals) was on the same day as his foot injury. Was it the injury or just good shots by the opposition?

A hot BOB can win some games. He has the skill... Flyers aren't going anywhere so hopefully Bryz doesn't lose his mojo by sitting out a few games.

Doesnt that time table depend on the chip fracture in the foot and how big of a chip it is?

I'm not talking about just the goals, he wasn't as aggressive as he had been in past games. He was dropping down into the butterfly more quickly than he had been when he was going hot.

Yes. But every medical website that I looked at, and that others have looked at say that at minimum, a full heal takes 3-4 weeks.

Leighton ain't here yet. He's trying to will the Phantoms into the AHL playoffs. Doing a grand job, too.

That's honestly part of my big concern. Bryz will hopefully come back and have no rust issues. The second part is hopefully they don't rush him back. I'd hate to see a setback because they pushed things

I'll have to go back and watch the other games cause I thought he was basically the same goalie. I didn't think he was less aggressive last night. He was in good position but the shooters made great shots to score.

Yeah. Had to look it up. Of COURSE it's a gaming reference.
- bodiva88

it's not a gaming reference at all. it's a reference to the beastmaster, a fine 1980s movie starring Marc Singer and Tanya Roberts.

Well this is flyers hockey so two weeks, a shot of novacaine, a slap on the ass and a "go get 'em kid" will have to suffice.

Interesting. I don't see it being that long of an injury. It could be the smallest of chips. Swelling is going to be an issue for the time being.
