If Bryz is going to miss playoff games, I'd recall Leighton. Otherwise, I'd bring up Bacashihua.

I wouldn't bother with Walker. If Leighton's claimed the cap hit ends this summer. Walker gets claimed, you got $875K of dead space for another year

i guess with no bonus cushion this year, and a new cba, don't have to worry about LTIR and its affect on potential overage penalties for next year? if so, all for bringing up leights, but would feel really badly for the phantoms LOL

i feel like one of the village people just minding my own business, banging my shovel against the rocks, only to see the jun horde come over the ridge. year after year after year after year...time after time...beer after beer.

Why would he miss playoff games? Bryz will be fine to play. Rest him up for a little and get back at it.

Depending where and how bad it is will determine that. I would think his regular season is done. Hopefully 2 weeks will be enough time for it to heal up some.

If the bone is weight bearing it could keep him out for awhile. Doesn't seem like that's the case, but preparation is smart.

A lot of unnecessary panic in Twitterworld regarding Leighton. As if he will even see the ice if he is called up.

If Leighton gets on the ice our problems are much worse and by then it wont matter what happens.

All Leighton needs to do is work on his door opening and closing chops. And maybe learn how to say, "Good Job Bob", in Russian.

He could be back next week, too. It likely depends on how sore it is.

per our own Bill Meltzer, via twitter:

Per http://mayoclinic.com and other sites, depending on severity, a chip fracture takes 4-10 weeks to heal.

As I just replied to Bill, I think the goal for the Flyers is going to be "comfort" rather than "healing"

The problem is that it can be very debilitating and playing on it can prevent healing. i dont know what bone is broken, but it could be a 3 days-3 week ordeal depending on how bad it actually is. When did it happen?

EDIT: Also, swelling can be a major concern. Not so cut and dry.

Well, FWIW, Holmgren says they don't think the injury is serious and they are hopeful that Bryz will be practicing by Friday and available for the weekend.

Probably hoping the swelling will go down. Often times, swelling and pain level are proportional.
