I'm tired of hearing areana talk
Honestly the isles could play in Compton and I wouldn't care as long as they were winning

This may or may not be the case but if it is, that just means the scouts and higher ups just have to work a little harder and make the best decision.

Im not saying the level of talent is that much better........its simply a team willing to give up more to make sure they get the player they want.

there's is nothing we can do about it...i can't root for my team to lose..i just can't..if you call donovan up thats fine if they send reese back..the guy on bport that you guys would fall in love with and should be brought back is Steve Olseky
- NYI78

Its not about rooting for the team to lose..........its about the isles being foolish and trying to win games. Its a moot point now...........id rather have the better pick

It's not like you can ask them to go out there and half-ass it. And we shouldn't start raping Bridgeport of all their roster players with a bunch of call-ups either. They have a shot to go deep in the playoffs and that experience will be invaluable. It's one thing if someone goes down and we need to bring a player up, but to start calling up guys just to maybe get a better draft position is a bad idea.

I get the frustration, but that's life. There are plenty of good defensive prospects in the top 10 for us to take. I want Ryan Murray as much as the next guy, but he may be gone after #2.

The bottom line is Bport will be fine without a few players for a few games. I'd rather see Donovan and Katic in the lineup over Eaton and Jurcina. I think playing against some of the best players in the world for a few games is invaluable. Again, im not saying throw games..............but man change up the lines completely for a few games. See what you have...........see what works and what doesnt work. Its ridiculous for this team to start playing like its game 7 now when they're out of the running. The time for that was a month ago.

Of course, but at this point, its just another example of this team being mismanaged. Leave it to the islanders to play well when it doesnt matter.

But Donovan is arguably the best defenseman on the team. It would have been like having Hamonic yanked out of the lineup for 5 games when we were still in the hunt and saying "it's only a few games it won't hurt". Not to mention any call up is more than likely going to get bottom-2 minutes. I would say playing 22 minutes a night in the AHL playoffs is definitely more valuable than playing 12 minutes a night in meaningless NHL games.

I'm perfectly fine with losing the rest of the season. I'm not rooting for it but if we lose..eh fine by me. I'm just not willing to blow up the Bridge to do so. Let the kids log minutes, it will pay off in the long run.

There are 9 games to go...........im pretty sure they will make the playoffs. My point is that they should have players from Bport playing on the isles. Not all at once, but give any prospect worth a damn a game or two.

Its actually nothing like yanking Hamonic for 5 games, being that Hamonic is already on the big club. While I agree the AHL playoffs will be good experience, so are world juniors championships which the organization felt wasnt as important as playing on the actual islanders.

A few games each guy isnt going to hurt, and when the time comes, send down whoever is eligible.........

Don't respond to jerk**fs. That encourages them to post more stupidity. Most fans who cheer for winners that were losers not too long ago have convenient memory failure.

I'm also confused as to why you want to give these guys a shot over Eaton/Jurcina, but at the same time you want to lose so we get a better pick. If you wanted the better pick..wouldn't you want the crappier defensemen to be playing?

you can't ask someone not to try..you can't...when you go to work today suck at your job on purpose..se how that feels...do you honestly think JT will stop trying?? if montoya is in the nets the next few games this will all take care of itself

I do want the team to lose, but more importanly i want to see the prospects get a look in the show. I want to see what the future has in store..........cause it certainly isnt Jurcina and Eaton. Im pretty sure Donovan and Katic arent going to start setting the NHL on fire for the few games they would be playing.

IM a die hard, and I could never root for this team to lose or throw games. But where were all these guys playing like this a month ago?

Like Kasper said, the pressure is off. What a great thing we did by helping the Rangers out.

For what it's worth, I'm done worrying about draft position. It's f'n ridiculous at this point. It's the theme at the end of every regular season as everyone else is looking to the playoffs. We are all gonna be glued to the f'n TV looking to see if we win the lottery, and then we're gonna argue about some f'n kid that may or may not pan out, and then say who we should've taken. Then, it takes a year or 2 or 3 to see if he does pan out, and then if and when he doesn't we're all gonna call him Bailey 2.0, or next year's catch phrase which might be Nino 2.0. What an f'n vicious cycle we're caught up in. Time to trade prospects and/or 1st rounders for humans. I can't take this wait and see game. So far it's been a lot of waiting and not much seeing.

- Charlie21

The point of a rebuild is to draft. If anything we should have been trading players for picks.. not the other way around.

So go to Bridgeport and watch them on a team playing in a playoff push, instead of in a couple of meaningless games here.

True, but the only success we've had in the draft besides Tavares has been in the later picks. We've stockpiled youth, now it's time to start using these assets to win games. The rebuild cannot last forever. At some point the "rebuild" crutch is no longer gonna work. I just have the feeling that it's the crutch until the future of the franchise is a little clearer.

This rebuild will last forever and most of these draft jockeys on here will be tickled pink about it, every year around Febuary they can cheer for the lottery and theres always next year! You know? the year Snow is going to start making trades and bring in decent veteran players. Guys that play with a little heart. There always next year.... Thats what the new fans know, thats all they know and they think its OK. This whole cycle is a (frank)ing disgrace, what makes anyone on here think this is going to change? Snow has done nothing to make me think that, in fact he has done nothing and he will continue to do so and a few morons will say he's doing an admirable job.
