Hell, *I* was drunk and guessed that he was drafted in 2008. At least I was close.

Me either, and the habs will never go after a true heavyweight again after the BGL debacle. Staubitz doesnt win every fight, but he has won a few, as i said he isnt a true heavyweight, when he jumps up in class either by size definition or pugilistic skills wise, he will lose. As will most light heavyweights to true heavyweights, as much as a lot of hab fans dont like it, he has a role to play. In chippy, physical games he is more effective than Darche is, or in games against much bigger tougher teams like boston and philly.

This. And in a division featuring Boston (and Chris Neil), he will provide value.

I want the Habs to get tougher, that's for sure. That being said, having a guy or two that can barely play hockey isn't going to help them.
- stinger67

Having guys like staubitz, moen, and white on the 3rd/ 4th line gives the habs a more physical dimension to their game, something they sorely have lacked for years, having guys like Nokes, Darche or Palushaaaay does very little for the habs in the way of anything, may as well have the physical presence and toughness over nothing.

Toughness and physical hockey is still rather important whether some fans like it or not.

If we win the Lotery, doesn't that give Plecks someone to play with?

Query: Does DD still put up 50ish points with any other wingers and does Cole and Pac put up 30 goals each with any other center?

So why is everyone so tight up? Do they think we will win the last 6 games and screw up the season?

Does Cole score more than 30 if he played at lease once on the PP when Martin was the coach?

Slowly becoming a fan of Desharnais, cant help but like his level of compete, especially along the boards and in the corners, the kids got some serious heart for a small guy, reminds me of Gionta in that aspect.

Wrong thread bud, JM can do no wrong here, he was fired for no reason at all. He might have been fired earlier, but PG was watching some game highlights of his coaching and system and simply fell asleep.

DD can put up 50pts a season with talented wingers.

I believe Cole scores between 20 and 30 goals a season playing on the top line with PP time, regardless of who his centerman is.

Not sure if Pac scores 30 with Plek.

Pacs and Cole are capable of putting up 30 goals without DD, i am not so sure DD is capable of 50 points without them. I thing he gets a little more room out there because of their size. He might get 50 points without them on a line with two more big wingers, who is to say he cant? I dont think it is all Cole and Pacs, as Desharnais has made his own chemistry with them, otherwise they would be Pleks wingers instead.

I'm not sure Cole would agree with this.

I think people are underestimating DD's contribution to that line.
