Where are these Meszaros reports? If he's sure, why not report it? I'm going with what the Flyers have released and what's being reported.
This isn't the first foot injury nearing playoff time that we've all seen. Was JvR doing light skating with a concussion, hip and abs injuries? - roenick97
Exactly, it isn't the first foot injury we've seen nearing playoff time. So why should we expect it to be different? JVR will not be 100% in the playoffs.
Eskin reported it on Twitter. It was posted on here when he reported it.

It's a circle of life in the NHL. The older talents such as Briere and Timonen retire around the time the younger talents mature enough to play to their potential. I have no doubt Sean Couturier will turn out to be what we expect them to be. Especially since he's able to do it now at such a young age. - roenick97

The guy is a hockey player. I hope he and Crosby both get to go out on their terms. - canadianpenfan
I just hope he plays this thing smart. Watson seemed confident though. Said Pronger said it himself. We will see. A lot of hockey yet to be played before we get there.
I would think Watson would know since he talked to him, but I agree with you that I will believe when I see it. - funmaster18
That's great, as long as he doesn't come back due to some feeling of obligation to the team. Right now it's pretty much all speculation, even on Pronger's part.
I'm glad he's having better days, and Eskin reported last night that Pronger will be examined in Pittsburgh this week. He's got to have so many more good days with zero symptoms before any decisions can be made.

Yep. I just hope if he comes back it's at 100%. Would be a great story.
Me too. I find it hard to live through them live (and my right side neighbor spends the whole time looking like she's ready to throw up). But there's nothing better than winning a multi-OT game. The crowd going berserk or completely silent (depending on the home v away status of the winner), the winning team pouring off the bench like playful puppies, and the losers not being able to get off ice fast enough. - bodiva88
The single best thing on the planet is playoff hockey, let alone OT, when you don't have a horse in the race.
Just watching the game as a hockey fan- stress free....

I love this young group of Flyers. Reed, Scheen, Couturier, Simmonds, Voracek make up the best group of young Flyers forwards of my lifetime possibly. I can't wait for vanRiemsdyk to get back on the ice and provide the team with even more depth. I hope that in the offseason, the Flyers dump Briere and his $8 million dollar cap hit somewhere else. His cap hit after this season would go down to $3 million if he was on another team. $8 mil for him is not worth keeping him around, but $3 mil would be a steal if he went to another team. I know he has a NTC but they should see if he would be open for making a list of suiters. With Jagr being 40, they sure could use another top line forward next year. Zach Parise or Rick Nash would obviously be a great addition. - TonyBazz
I'm all for moving him in the offseason if they can pull it off but where are you getting that number? Far as I knew it was 6.5. As for replacing Jagr I think the Flyers have plenty of up and coming players waiting in the wings to step into that spot. If you are po'ed about Briere than I don't think you are gonna want Nash at 8 mill either.
A very reliable source in Howard Eskin reported that Meszaros will not play again this year. We'll see. We've all seen the same reports. - MJL
For a guy who won't play again this season, Meszaros seems to be getting around very well. He was in pressbox one night after the surgery and was up and about last night to the point where if you didn't know he'd recently had back surgery, you'd have thought he was one of the healthy scratches.

I for one hope that Eskin is wrong about Meszaros. But he's usually reliable when it comes to things like this.
