Like this article. You almost have to give Homer an A or A+ for the off-season/in-season. Bryz looks like a good deal. Richards trade looks to be even. Carter trade looks to be a steal. Adding Talbot, Jagr, Read, etc. Trading for Kubina/Grossman after losing a franchise d-man/captain. I'm not sure how this guy doesn't get praise. - steelydan
talbot wasn't mentioned at all in the piece, but he's been terrific, too, with a career high in goals. he's cooled off, but still contributes every night with his solid defensive play and hustle. |

They are brutal. He was saying that while the angle from behind was showing he didnt even touch him.
People aren't kidding about how bad Steigerwald and Errey are. They make Jack Edwards sound almost lucid.

Worst announcers in the league IMHO. Can't stand em! Bias doesn't even start to describe those two idiots. |

3-2 pens.
4--2 pens. crosby made brodeur look like an old man. didn't even move. - hammarby31
Looking at the likely first round matchup, barring an oddity it's going to be the Penguins, or Rags. Flyers are 3-1 against Pittsburgh thus far, and 0-5 against the Rags as we all know. That being said, I would rather play the Rags.
Rags don't have anywhere near the firepower the Penguins have. Both Fluery and Lundqvist are having stellar seasons, so there really isn't a goaltender I would prefer facing. A bunch of the Flyers issues vs. the Rags this year has been allowing soft goals, at least one in every game, and sometimes more. Now that Bryzgalov has righted the ship, that doesn't appear to be a concern right now.
I really want no part of dealing with Malkin, and Crosby. |

pens will be the tougher task because of their fire power. they're healthy now, too. the rags have some injuries and don't have the secondary scoring. with bryz shutting it down, they can play with either team. as you said, the rags scored a ton of garbage goals in the previous five games including some wacky deflections.
flyers haven't played the rags in the playoffs since 1997. i'd really love a series against them. especially with fonzie behind their bench. |

When Crosby and Malkin are on the ice at the same time during the PP, it seems like they are going to score every time. It's scary. Throw in Neal, Kunitz, Sullivan, Dupuis, Staal and company, and the Pens are loaded offensively. |

Yup. Agree 100%. If any of the Rangers, Flyers, Bruins, or Penguins, have to play each of those 3 teams to get to a Cup Final it's a gauntlet.
Bruins are healthy now with the exception of Horton. They got Peverley back. I expect them to start playing well heading into the playoffs. |

jr should shut up about goaltending. he's killing crawford on two goals. the first was deflected by his own dman reaching in at the last second, and the second came off a broken stick weber shot that deflected off the skates of radulov and then hornqvist and it found a corner. yeah. totally his fault. bad positioning. not aggressive enough. STFU, jr. |

didn't realize the bruins had gotten healthier in recent days. they're dangerous still, but they're a bit tired. not playing as well and not as good as they were last year. |

They do. And with Letang back now, their defense is pretty solid. It's not great, but it's certainly good enough. They allow a fair amount of quality chances, but MAF erases a bunch of them. |

i don't know that i'd call a quick wrister on the ice about 12 feet out on a breakaway spectacular, but it was a very nice shot. marty didn't really have much chance. certainly not staying on his feet and not moving, anyway. |

Nope they aren't. They have played a ton of games. Thomas hasn't been nearly as good, but he can still steal games.
I wish we could see the Flyers with a healthy Pronger, Meszaros, and JVR in the playoffs. That's 3 key players to be without. |

fluery is an excellent goalie without question, and one of the luckiest guys i've ever seen. kovy just flat out missed a wide open net with him out of position on the other side. he just had another deflection squeeze through him and trickle just on the other side of the post instead of in the net. this goes on routinely with him. i watch a lot of hockey. a lot of goalies. i swear none get close to the breaks this guy gets. |

He does get a ton of good fortune. Almost unfair to be lucky while being that good.
I'm starting to worry Giroux isn't going to catch Malkin for the Ross Trophy... |

jvr will be back. sadly pronger and meszaros won't be, but fortunately we've got kubina and grossmann, who've been godsends afaic. they miss the heavy point shots from pronger and meszaros, but kubina has a bomb from the right, and if kimmo continues to shoot like he has recently - they still have some legit weapons on the blueline. |
