And to take it one step further its nice to be able to express your opinion on a website. Whether its negative or what is concieved as negative(I consider it realistic). God forbid I shouldnt think Snow is doing a great job by actually doing nothing, what a genius! Why did'nt every other GM in the NHL think of this? Gimme a break! There are far more fans that share my opinion than the ones who think Snow is doing a fabulous job and the idiots that once again are happy that we are picking in the top five! Dee is one of those people, sorry I disagree with her view as she does with mine. To say our management is doing a great job and free agents actually do love it here and Snow because Nabakov decided to sign is laughable. Everyone of these fans says the same thing every (frank)ing year, wait till next year! Wait till you see what Snow does! This is followed every year with the same shat. I am not one of these people. Wish I had every one of your numbers, couple of my friends have some great stock you might be interested in purchasing. This is not so much directed at you by the way.

I hope the Isles just announce the plan to move into the Barclays Centre as soon as they can....no more talk of an arena, better transportation and a boost to the team. I'm up here in Canada so I don't know all the little details that alot of you know that live in the area so I'm sure there may be drawbacks i'm unaware of...but in the end I'm just looking for better days ahead for the team. Cheer

We all are but I don't think barclays is a realistic option, its only being used as leverage and pretty lame leverage at that. Once Wang realises that most people on Long Island unfortunately don't care about the Islanders is when he can MAYBE find a realisitic approach to a solution. These politicians don't care and have flip flopped on this enough times to prove that point and the majority of the people don't care. The last vote proved that point! Sucks and I like most on here hope there is a solution but this team not being relevant and quite frankly being an absolute joke from top to bottom is certainly not going to help. Wangs reluctance and Snows incompetence will continue to make this team not relevant to voters, politicians, and sooner rather than later most fans (of what little is left) the team. Ice a competitive team, bring in hockey people who are qualified for their positions. Bring some excitement to a fanbase who is starved for it. Do that and you'll have more leverage than any of these politicians will no what to do with. Not going to happen, Snow and Wang got it figured out. Just ask them and Dee. Sad but true.

Arthur Staple @StapeNewsday

#Isles may be in on Mich. State D Torey Krug. Small (5-9, 175), skilled puck-mover. Several teams looking to sign. Could decide this wkend.

Edit: If you want to watch some game tape and hear about his game (from his coach)... http://www.msuspartans.com/toreykrug/

5'9? Only our Isles would be actively looking to make a small D even smaller

I was thinking the same thing when I saw that, how many more times do we have to get steam rolled by other teams before our GM realises we need some size? Been going on for years now, funny how everyone else sees it?

What happened to this year? We were supposed to be making the playoffs and by next year truly competing for the Stanley Cup? Don't you think Snow is doing a great job? This is what he said, am I wrong?

There's a lot of teams trying to land him. He's a Hobey finalist. Watch the videos on that site and then judge him. Kid looks like he can play. Not to mention someone is going to have to eventually replace Streit's offensive output when he leaves. Not every single player has to be 6'4''.

I would love to have several and agree we need them, but there's no reason to write off a quality player because he's not that size.

Of course not but they have to start injecting some size and muscle into this team. Even Snow and Wanger have to know that by now? Then again, maybe not?

I agree, but no harm in adding a small, skilled guy to our already talented prospect pool. Especially when we need quality defensemen bad. There is some size in the system, likely not anyone ready to step in now and make an immediate impact though.

Edit: More importantly than anything we need competent defenseman. Most glaringly highlighted just now by Mark Streit letting Stamkos, the NHL's leading goalscorer, sit uncovered directly at the top of the crease

Stamkos should be in the locker room already....even though it wasn't his intention to hot Hamonic in the head (principal point of contact) he still did....course they don't call those on a Stamkos type....
and agree with your point on streit......good job captain!!!

Streit is making the decision to make him captain seem worse and worse. Worse thing Streit has done so far this season as captain though is come up with that stupid high five chain when they are announcing the games stars

Ehh Hamonic got tripped up and fell down low. Maybe a roughing penalty but no way that would have ever been a game misconduct.

It's not just Streit though, outside of Hamonic, not one defenseman on this team has defensive awareness better than that of a door knob. Night in and night out guys go unmarked, untouched, and generally totally overlooked in front of our net. The Islanders get caught puck-gazing more than any other team I've ever watched.

An even worse idea would have been making Okposo captain. Tavares will get, and 110% deserve, the C after next year when Streit isn't around. He literally embodies everything a captain should be.

Yeah....yet another puck moving, speedy munchkin....no thanks. How about a d-man who can knock the fillings out of someone's teeth? That's what we need....maybe two of those, in fact....

One good thing about the fact that there are 9 games left in the season....I won't have to watch Al Montoya play goal for too much longer. Screen, this, that, blah, blah....whatever....he simply can't move laterally. CANNOT. This team can't afford to get cr*p goaltending. This game should be 3-1 Islanders right now. Nabokov would have saved all of those, except Stamkos' second one.

What exactly do you want him to do??? You want a top 4 D-men & a top 6 forward... but which ones moved that didn't have NMC that would have waived them to come to the Island.. Which players that we are trying to build for the future did you want to move & what other rebuilding team made any moves??

NVMC needs to be destroyed. Even before the asbestos. Wang better push hard on this one and break the lease. I'd take Brooklyn in a second even if it's a little small. Brooklyn would be the big time for the Isles.
