I agree with everything here, but who do you sit for Gaustad and Wilson? YIP and????
- 12pack

Yip for Wilson for sure. Right now Spaling or Smith for Gaustad.

no shame in loosing to the pens, they are the very last team I would want to be playing come playoff time. You preds gotta keep playing your game if Radulov is as good as everyone says he is he'll find a way to score and greatly improve your powerplay.

I agree. While I want to win everytime out, getting best by that team in their barn with the way they are playing right now is really not a good measure of this team, Radulov, or anything else right now. The Pens are rolling right now.

Saturday night against the Jets will give us a much better idea of where we are. Also, I've been hearing some discussion about starting Lindy on Saturday and sitting Peks. IMO that's a bad idea. It's like the a shooter in basketball. You play your way out of a slump. You only sit if your hurt (mentally or physical) or there is something you are doing wrong technically.

With regards, to this Saturday's game against Jets. Any chance Tebow gets some icetime. #incrediblypredicablejoke

Here's the fixes:

Give peks as much off as possible between now and the playoffs. Rest would do him good.

Get Josi back ASAP, so cube can go back to playing only with Klein (they're good for each other).

Sit Toots for a while to rest him up.

Never play Yip again. He looked horrible last night. I cringed every time that 4th line was out--this team needs to have a 4th line that causes problems for the other team...and not turn the puck over like crazy. Yip should never play over hustlechuck.

And, lastly: Lets get that player back who we traded for...you know, Sergei's brother? What's his name? I forget, because I haven't seen him play in a while...but man, that guy used to be pretty good. We need him back.

Oh, and Webs needs to have a "sit down" with Suter, and find out what the hell his problem is.

Repost from the last thread:

One thing that I haven't really seen mentioned is something I have really come to realize that has been underestimated on this team...the value of Roman Josi. I know the guy is a rook. But if you look at the unbelievably smooth transition he made when we picked up Gill and look at the last few games without him in the lineup, there is a very noticeable difference. I don't think it is so much that Josi alone is vitally important, but more the pairings have appeared almost clueless at times without him. I, for one, cannot wait until he is able to get back into the lineup.

I read that last night and had been mulling that same thought. Don't know whether it's just wishful thinking on my part or not but I tend to agree with your post. I really do like what we've seen in Josi.

Time for more of the new guard to take over.

Trotzy comments regarding the many noticeable changes in Radulov (physically bigger and stronger, much more mature, better English, etc.) were encouraging. He looks more workmanlike & more professional. It showed after the subdued reaction from him and his teammates after he scored the goal. He (and the other guys on the ice) knew that the team was in a huge hole and it wasn't about him or them as individuals. The mature response was a welcome sight.

I agree. Josi is a guy I've had my eye on for a couple of years. I actually got to see his first game back for the Admirals after concussion and thought it was just a matter of time before he was on the Preds.

Besides what you mentioned here, remember when Weber was out and how well Josi played on the first defensive pairing with Suter? I think Josi is a very solid, reliable defenseman and he's only going to get better. I don't envision a Blum-esque regression next season at all.

Still, I can't wait to see him go nuts after he scores a goal that puts us ahead.

I agree with this as well. His English is no longer mumbling, so he's way ahead of TITS and tits, ironic given the last 4 years of being in Russia. Even on the ice, he just seemed more calm and confident. The one thing to watch that will be interesting is his penalties, when they come. What kind are they? Frequency? I notice a few times last night where he almost had one.

I cant wait to see Wilson on a line with AK. It seems pretty clear AK is going to have to earn his way into Trotzs good-ole-boy club, but him and wilson on a line could cause some serious damage!

I think the REAL recipe for disaster was 1. A chance to leap over the Wings and 2. The National spotlight. Preds suck in those games.

truer words never written. goes along w/ trotz being an overall top notch underdog coach, but only very average when favored or more talented. also agree on the dropping to 6th theory. wasnt it recently be bragged on being able to aim at whos ahead of us rather than worry who was behind us.

We are going to lose some games, stuff happens. It wouldn't hurt to fal into 6 spot....
Except in LA wins the division because they owned us this year.Wings hawks first round. Avalanche upsets the blues. We face wings/hawks next round

i hate this arguement. 1st- we dont control who wins the pacific. 2nd- we need to be clicking going into the playoffs, not struggling. besides, its likely the 3 seed will by necessity be playing well or they wouldnt win the division. 3rd- we need to have home ice. a few weeks ago we were thrilled that we were looking at who we might catch now we seem ok being relegated to a lower seed. i sure hope the team doesnt have that attitude.

Not only that, but our record vs the Pacific this season is barely over .500. Outside of our perfect record against the Ducks the Pacific has played us better than any other division. The Preds are best against the Central.

I'm watching UMass-Lowell vs Miami (OH). There's a Weber on Miami and a Suter on UMass. I thought that was a little odd.

EDIT: And did I mention they're both defensemen?

Absolutely.

This team needs to set its sights all the way to the top and then play and execute above their abilities. It's all about attitude, momentum, confidence, lofty goals, expectations, hard work, belief in only the best, etc, etc. Anything less is Loserville and is destined to fail, especially for a team like the Preds.

I couldn't care less at this point who we play. Just play to win. Actually, on second thought, the tougher the opponent the better. Whoever is the hottest and supposedly has our number is exactly who we should face first.

Nothing like bathing in the fire and taking on whatever comes your way to build the character of a winner. If the team can't persevere, then they deserve their fate. The "we are really awesome hockey players and deserve to win" mentality is crap.

If you ever get a chance to go, Miami (OH) is a great place to catch a game. What a campus and a helluva hockey school!!!

Absolutely not. You do not want a goaltender going into the playoffs with a bunch of rest time that he is not used to beforehand. Maybe they sit him for two games...anything over that would be a mistake. He has not been sharp and the best thing for Pekka is to get him in there and get his confidence back...not sit him on the bench. Fatigue has nothing to do with it...this is simply a bad stretch.
