I wonder who will win the Calder if the nuge ends up with 5 more pts than the rest and col... Is out of the playoffs??? Gonna be interesting but even if they were tied in pts my vote would be nuge... Bias or no bias.... (frank)ing kid is awesome and does nothing but produce...

Unfortunately, unless Nuge is points leader by a few then I think the Calder is won by Landi. Big +/-, tops in ppg and gwg. Goalscoring leader, produces at home and away equally. He had an amazing year.

Games played should be a factor. If Nuge had played a full slate, the Calder wouldn't even be a conversation.

I love how when The Nuge scored in the shootout, a guy in a Panther's jersey jumped up and cheered

Would, could, should...didnt

Player most proficient...Landi has covered a lot of areas...more than Nuge unfortunately.

I hope to be wrong tho'

RNH is winning the Calder..... His offensive production trumps all these other intangibles that Henrique and Landeskog have.

I hope you are right, I don't think you will be proven right though.

If Nuge does not pull away with the rookie scoring race he will not win the Calder.

I also think it is only a 2 player race between Nuge and Landi.

Nuge will not win, its a fact that the NHL hates the OILERS and will not give the calder to the best rookie. The winner of the 2012 calder cup will be Landi.

Fact? Why do they hate the Oilers? Both Nuge and Landi can make strong points to win the Calder. I'm being a bit of a homer here, but the Nuge and his points are pretty amazing. It should be him, but both are deserving. The most impressive thing to me is Ebs at a point per game in his sophomore season. What is the ceiling for him?

Ugh...there is no conspiracy vs the Oil about the Calder.

Nuge and his ppg% is fantastic...no doubt. He is high on the PP points list and scores very well at home. Also his f/o % is fairly respectable for a rookie. He is very consistent in scoring (only 3 times has he gone 2+ games w/o a point). He is showing he is a high end offensive talent.

Landi has more gwg, more PP goals, is leading in scoring, is a +20. He is showing that he is good offensive talent, but also a very respectable defensive player. He is a more well rounded player and I think shows that he the more proficient of the two.

All that said it will matter for naught when Griffin Reinhart enters the leagues and rules that every year is his rookie year and he is the only candidate for the Calder.

Submit to the Great Overlord Griffin Reinhart.

Get your logic, reason and unbiased opinion out of hockeybuzz
But I agree.
7 games left Nuge will need to be spectacular (at least ppg) and Landeskog will have to be near invisible. If Nuge can take the goal scoring and get his +/- in the positive and have a 5 point lead it would be hard to deny him.

I know...I was playing along...

You joking: Stop bringing in logic and sense!! lolz, fyi i agree with you

Me joking back: that is the pot calling the kettle black...lolz...i.e. you accuse me of being logical and you agree with my logic...thus we are both being logical and sensible, we should stop it.

I used the winky to convey that...
