I really doubt that our rebuild will be of the magnitude that yours have been If anything, if the cards are played right during the summer, habs should be back in the playoffs by next season... - HardPuck
Do not think that you are in Phili's position when they bottomed out. You have a good/great goalie in Price, you have a good/headcase defeneman in Subban, you have a headcase for a G.M. Do you really think the moves he has made this year has help your team and their image? Firing an asst coach game day, Firing the coach and replaceing him with a lame duck coach? you may have a bit more talent than when we started but your not that good now and you are not set up for the future as Philli was. Welcome to SUCKSVILLE..............lmao. |

What cards? Signing Suter and Parise? Drafting a guy that can make an immediate impact? Maybe your rebuild won't be like ours, but assuming you'll get off with one bad year is setting yourself up for future madness. - Lahey
LMAO and they call me a homer. what player is going to want to go to that situation next year?? A G.M. who to say the least has thrown his coach under the bus how many times? A coach who can't defend himself in the media because they have a hate on for them. Patrick Roy coming in to save the team? The last time he was on a Canadian team he lost it and quit? Hell I can think of 20 teams if not 27 that are more stable in the front office.
Edit: I do not include Edmonton and Columbus in that group. (even though I rather be in Edmontons shoes if I was a player)

MTL might miss the playoffs next year, but not by much, they have alot in system, and there team is not as bad as people think, alot guys are having off years and they can get rid of Gomez when ever they want, and bring in who ever they want, its MTL. So dont be stupid people. Plus they have the best goalie in the league, hands down, dont try to argue that, your just going to look dumb to the people who get it. |

No one said they didn't have some good pieces. But if you look what I said was bad about the team was the Orgnization itself. A G.M. who has thrown the coach under the bus for not speaing french, made head shaking trades- Cammilarri(Spelling) for Bourque then was surprised he couldn't speak french for example. a lame duck coach because the G.M. is a head case and the fact that the Media runs the team right now. Owners that want out if I am correct (does Gillett still own the team?) no the situation in Montreal will get worse before it gets better. |

They can change all that in the off season. Look this time last year Sens fans wanted to fire Murray, now they love him again.
Edit, I think now we can say the Cam trade was good for boths sides, and even better for MTL, now that it has time to settle. they got cap space and pick, and not to bad prospect. |

What exactly do they have that is getting better? They have very little top end talent and I don't expect too many of their younger players to get all that much better. For however many point Patches might get the odds are just as equal that Cole is going to lose that many. They'll be in the top 10 at the draft next year. |

Having a #1 center in Spezza, a 30 goal scorer in Michalek, a good captain in Alfreddson and a 70 point d-man sure helped out.
There will be some team that shines next year, but there are more teams that are expected to do better every year and every year there are a bunch that just don't do enough to get better. |

I think MTL problem is they dont have scorers, and if they can change that in the offseason they will make the playoffs or just shy out of it.

Here's what I never got:
There are teams that have had more lottery picks than us that have gone on to win the cup.
There are teams that have had more lottery picks than us that have stayed poopty for years.
Seems to me everyone will just have so much more ammo if they just cool their jets on talking poop about the oilers for two years or so. If we still suck then, it will be utterly indefensible.
Whereas, if they speak up now, they'll stand a decent chance to be eating their words in the worst way if the oilers rebuild is successful.
Being that it's not evident the oilers are going to either win a cup or keep sucking, everyone should just sit tight and think about the promised land of gloating, whichever side ends up getting the last laugh. |

Problem is there isn't a whole lot of goal scorers in the UFA market. Even if they were MTL isn't exactly the first choice for most. The taxes are killer and that alone hurts their chance. |

One guy Price, he is so good. Look at Kipper in cow town, if they dont have him they would be in last place. Like I said there forwards have not been playing well, all they really need is a spezza type player. or more guys who can put the puck in the net. |

If it were that simple there wouldn't be team 30 points out of the playoffs every year.
Yes look at Kipper in Cow town. |

Can Omark be sent to OKC for the play-offs, or does he have to pass though waivers?
Omark, on the other hand, acts entitled,
WTF does that mean?
A guy who'd rather play for his country than the Oklahoma City Blazers is acting entitled?
Entitled. You're thinking Omark should talk more about giving 110% and stuff like dat?
**
Omark is over a PPG and +11 in 46 AHl games.

It's just that easy huh??? Murray has never made the dumbassed move Gauthier has made. Murray had a base of good/great prospects in place before last year. get over the fact it's Montreal. How much has that helped Toronto? who is the only team in the NHL that could say they have the history/fame of the Habs. Players sign where they have a chance to win. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if Price gave them the Roy treatment this summer and demanded a trade out of Montreal because the pressure there is doubled over Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto, Winnepeg why because whenthefans shyt on ya its in english and in french. the Habs carry the weight of a fledgling nation on them Quebec. They have a press corp that the players/coaches demands speak french over english. No this has more to do with over a couple players a general manager who has the media savvy to hold the press at bay and the exp to get the team back on track, a coach that has more demands on his time and restrictions than any other team in the NHL. It's too important to get it right the first time around there. |

It is simple, it just very hard to get those type of players. The easy way is just to sign some depth, and hope your lucky, and the team plays better then they are on paper. |

That's not really a plan and given how well MTL is at hiring coaches it's quit apparent the odds of them finding the coach to get more out of less is slim to none. Especially since they will alienate 90% of the Candidates for not speaking Engrish. |
