I am a mixed bag over Omark.
I personally don't have an issue with him wanting to play in the World's. If it was a Canadian playing over in the SEL or KHL and they were gonna get demoted to a farm team and they said they wanted to play for their country people here would be pissed if they were blocked from doing that.
That said I am tired of him making demands of where he will and will not go. Let him go to the World's, it is an important tourney for Euros, much more so than North Americans. Let him play, and hopefully play well there. then try and trade him. Get what you can. Failing that let him stew on the RFA, and if someone wants to sign him take the compensation. Otherwise let him stay in the SEL and hold his rights for as long as you can.
So I see his desire to play for Sweden and not OKC but he needs to be a better team player. The Oil should respect his "request" and let him go there, but make it clear that he will not be coming back to the NHL until he becomes that team player.

There's a team out there that would use an offer sheet for Omark? I don't think a team would get the other GM's pissed at them just to get Omark....Weber, for sure but Omark...NO. |

$1,034,249 annual cap hit or less: No compensation
$1,034,249 — $1,567,043: Third-round pick
$1,567,043 — $3,134,088: Second-round pick
I don't see him making above 1.4 a year so instead of going through all of the paper work with and offer sheet I think a GM would rather just trade for him and then sign him. We'll take him for a 4th.....or Butler |

Agreed...if you can get him for a later round draft pick, that comes back around to my point about burning bridges around the league by throwing an offer sheet at a non-impact player. There are reasons you just don't see that many offer sheets...GM's not liking them is one of them. |

Anyway, Omark might play out the season in Edmonton, but he's gone this summer. He's gonna be an RFA, and the Oilers will qualify him, so it's not like Omark will/can just sign with any other team. Well, he could sign an offer sheet, but the Oil would just match it to prove a point. (Clouts)
So typical NHL GM's to do that instead of accept that they scouted him wrong and Omark didnt fit the team needs.
Edmonton has had the same patience with Omark as Sather has had with Zuccarello and by that i mean zero patience.
Let Omark go as far away as possible from the Oilers organisation. Let him play
the World Championship instead and maybe bring his value up so that Tambellini can trade him.
If not, i do hope that Omark pulls a Radulov and go to Europe or KHL. - Arosen74
He'll most likely be dealt at the draft, either for a pick or apart of a deal to move up in the draft. |

The Oilers need to be fair. If they aren't going to make all eligible players report to OKC then neither should Omark. If this really is a situation where is really simply pouting to get his way, and there is nothing unfair going on, then let him go. He'd be a cancer in OKC if he doesn't want to be there. Would he really make a difference? The team is doing well as is. |

Do you actually know the rules to the AHL playoffs and who can play? Omark and Hartikanen are the only two on this roster that are eligible to play in the AHL playoffs. |

Apparently Omark lost his waiver-exempt status while he was up with the Oilers. He's on the list of people who can play, but he'd have to clear waivers first. |

Apparently he has to clear waivers now to go down. I'm not sure if that is 100% accurate or not as I thought there was some loop holes after the trade deadline. Problem is everyone is reporting he has to clear to go back down because of games played. |

I ran it through capgeek, and if I did it correctly he's still exempt from waivers. If someone wants to check my work please let me know if I did it correctly:

According to just about everyone in E-Town he had 4 or 5 games left when he was last called up.
He was 23 when he signed so 60 GP is his waiver limit. My issue is I thought there were different waiver rules post TDD and whether or not if he hits 60GP during the year if it actually takes effect this year or next. |

Hey mouth breather!
Thats why my comment was openended, I didn't know that. My statement was that they needed to be fair and if they were being fair then he needed to suck it up. The way you respond, it is clear, you augment your own absence of knowledge with overly aggressive posts. I was replying to a post, politely I might add, so settle down. The sooner you can function while wearing a helmet in public the sooner they'll let you take it off. |

Schremp is 3rd in scoring for MODO .. most success he's had since Junior. Omark would be happier playing SEL or KHL and I don't blame him. He is the Swedish Schremp. He can play alot of years there and be the focus of attention. |

ou my friend don't seem like the sterotypical leafs troll that just wants to harrass any fan from another team or make outrageous trade comments like Stamkos for Nadri or Schenn for 2 firsts and 2 prospects. What I have noticed is your quiet until there is a chance for make a joke or correct someone. You prolly can chat hockey all day long if you want. |

I asked you a simple question? How would you like me to ask it?
Excuse me my fine sir, do you know the rules?
You went on to question the Oilers, if you didn't know the rules then don't question the club. |

Pretty much. They guy is showing the same character. Robbie thought he didn't have to change his game and thought he knew it all. Now he is in the SEL and not even showing enough to make a NA comeback. Omark is older then Schremp was and is now showing the same. |

i like Omark and i think the oilers are stupid not to give him a good look to end the season. he is creative and can score, he scored a nice one today. He is small but there has been successful small players. we have nothing to loss and to give up on his talents is stupid.
Hemmer is awesome and look good with Harti. I have never liked him with Gagner, i don't think they complement each other. - moe99
LOL thats because they are very similar players. Except Hemsky is bigger and faster and Gagner has heart and isn't a prima donna occansionally........lol
wait sounds like they are two sides to the same coin. tobad we couldn't clone them to be one great player instead of two players with great potential.........lol. |
