What do you want another divisional team haunting the Leaf team as well as their fans for the next 10 years? We already got Boston doing that with Seguin and youngster Dougie Hamilton around the corner, now your suggesting we do the same thing with Montreal? I don't think so. Burke won't do it anyway. If there's one thing we know about Burke, he's stubborn. If he was to offer out any offer sheets, it should've been to Stamkos last year. |

Would have been better if he didn't write it in the first place - Conquest
BB has to swing a goalie deal of some sort...but Price is just......I can't believe he wrote that |

Just trade everything for every draft pick they could and draft Subban, Vasilevski, Altshuller, Dansk and every other (frank)ing goalie in the draft, one has to stick if you get them all. |

Montreal may consider that considering the return would be 4 firsts, not 2. Still, 2 issues with this idea:
1) Burke made it clear with the Penner fiasco that he doesn't like offer sheets.
2) Montreal actually has better cap flexibility than Toronto and for PR purposes alone would have to retaliate and make strategic offer-sheet offers to Kulemin and Franson. Both can be had where compensation would be less than a 1st and Toronto would still have to overpay them if they wanted them back. |

They tried that once (kinda)... then ended up trading Rask for a goalie for "now"

Better than signing undrafted guys and hoping to hit the one in one million like he did with Hiller. |

What burke didn't like was the fact that Lowe went ahead and did it without even coming to Burke to let him know he was going to. The code amongst GMs is to approach the GM first to see if they can strike a deal before resorting to that.
Burkie did the same with Kessel, otherwise there would have been an extra draft pick going Boston's way |

7.7 per year was mikes offer..Here are this years compensation rates..With a cap increase the rate will likely be 8mil+ for 4 first rounders next season(offersheets this summer apply to next years rates).....
$6,268,175 — $7,835,219: Two first-round picks, a second and third
$7,835,219 and higher: Four first-round picks...
Just saying... |

If we weren't doing it for Stamkos then we aint doing it for Price.
Extremely insane move anyways. Just a regular trade for Schneider would likely mean giving up less.

Thank you.
Mike, seriously? Price is an above average goaltender. His stats over the years have shown that. He's not worth two first round picks.
As I stated yesterday, I'm confortable going into next season with Reimer and a vet. Not Gus. A veteran goalie. |
