It's not just Luke Schenn, its the whole atmosphere of our fanbase. Everyone thinks Burke is poop because he hasn't gotten us to a 7th or 8th spot yet. The point is to build a hockey team, this year could end up being a blessing in disguise cause were in the hunt for a top 8, potentially top 3 or 4 pick. In the end that player will most likely end up being more valuable to our hockey club then a 1st round exit in this year's playoffs.

Schenn is 22, he's on the 1st year of a 5 year deal at a reasonable 3.6m cap hit. When you're a d-man starting your career at 18 years old, your development will get a little wonky, he didn't go back for an extra year of junior, or even start in the AHL. Im just sick of all the negativity.

Basically what we can take away from all of this is that sometimes people are right and more than sometimes people are wrong.

Gotta remember we were a playoff team all year until we hit the wall. Were going to make some changes and get rid of some of the deadweight. Carlyle will bring a more defensive approach, and Reimer, who will be only 24 by the way, should probably have a better 3rd season from it. Were not that far away, plus our pipeline is filling up with solid B level prospects. The Marlies are winning their division and we still have a whole another wave of players on the way. (Biggs,Percy,McKegg,Ross,Leivo,Top 8 pick this year)
