I get that, i'm aware of the US' history and how it led to their constitution but its clearly out-dated and should be reviewed. Why would the people of the US let emotionality take over rationality? They dont NEED a gun, they just feel like they do.

Well, I didn't understand it as much until I moved here and went to law school and saw how much the constitution means. Supreme Court decisions are still based on it, and they manipulate it to apply to today's issues and today's society.
It isn't about NEEDING the gun, it's about being able to be the one to decide if the gun is something you want. The right to possess it is the sole issue.
