Last night, it's not like the Sabres defense was anything out of this world.
Yet, Miller stopped everything.

did you see the saves he had to make?

I understand what you're saying, but you can't expect the guy to steal games with the team he has in front of him. The 2010 playoff run with Halak, that team, was much better than the one we have today.
- Apples

Isn't that the definition of stealing a game? When you play on a bad team but stand on your head and still win it?

I didn't compare him to Halak either...

Bryz had tons of softies, i cant deny that

but as soon as they acquired some actual NHL dmen in Grossman and Kubina.. and tightened up their play in their own zone the guy wins First Star of the Week 2 weeks in a row

- Crimsoninja

Ta-da!

Price rarely lets in a softie. Maybe Hodgson's first goal should have been saved, but all goalies let in fluky goals like that.

No, I did. My point was that during the 2010 playoff run, the team was allowing many shots, but mostly from the outside. Most of Halak's saves were easy enough.

Last night, Price was getting bombarded from the slot with no defense whatsoever except for when Gorges and Subban were on the ice.

Flamers.

Think of the return you could have had on PRICE.

You trade a good goalie that stole so much and is very good.

And get lars eller, who has been a good 3rd liner at best.

For price the price would have been way higher, we could have one of the best defensmen in the league and a good draft pick plus lars eller.

When tinordi and MR B and those other blueliners like dietz and company come up, ( if they do cause YA NEVER KNOW ) and are bad? Would you rather have kept price over halak considering the return?????????

I would have gone with: Mostly everyone on the Habs save maybe 6-7 players.

What does "flamers" mean?

I don't think you understand that the return for goalies just isn't very good in general. Someone else will provide examples, and I won't get into an Eller debate, but I don't think the return was so bad.
