I know they sign for X number of years, but I don't know if the actual money is paid yearly depending on performance/ratings.

Edit: I'd say RDS paid let's say 4 million to have the rights for X number of years. Habs get their money and RDS needs to move their ass and find sponsors to make the deal worth it.
