Don't care.
I did make one error, the number for Buffalo is two points. If the Sabres lose in regulation and Winnipeg doesn't win tomorrow, the Flyers are a playoff team. The Sabres can't catch the Flyers in regulation/OT wins - Jsaquella
either team will be a very tall task. crosby and his 9 assists, and malkin and his 45 goals, and a healthy letang scare me. there'd be no shame in losing to them. the rangers have had our number and it would ruin my summer to go down in the first round to them, even in 7 games. i think the flyers would have a better chance against ny, even though the regular season records indicate the opposite.

That's what I mean, there's no good choice, and there's not going to be a repeat of 2010. They're gonna have to get through Pittsburgh, Boston or the Rangers, if not two of the three.
As far as dropping to sixth to get the "easier" matchup...I think it's more important to be on a roll than get an easy first round matchup
My dad was a DJ for years. WFIL "Famous 56" was often played at our house until that gave way to "Oldies 98" (98.1 FM) in 1986 or so.
I love oldies music. Better than most excrement played today. Of course, I am particularly fond of Johnny Cash, but I listen to all sorts of music: Celtic, New Age, Rock, Metal, Old Country (virtually nothing new except for Dwight Yoakam), Rockabilly, Oldies/Rock 'n' Roll, etc.

We have tiebreaker on Buffalo...so it is 2 points
Winnipeg-1 point
Caps beat Jets and Rags beat Sabres in regulation...Flyers clinch tomorrow night

i agree. i want them playing the best they can and be as healthy as possible. let the chips fall where they may. nj has played well of late and could catch them if the flyers drop a few. just guessing that the last two games against pittsburgh could decide everything.
i'm just thrilled bryz is on fire right now. a month ago, i'd say forget it. they have a fighting chance in the first round no matter who they play with bryz on his game, along with grossmann/kubina solidifying the blue line. the pop gun offense (including their now impotent pp) is my biggest concern.

Philly has such a rich musical history, from the '50s on out. The '80s were fun with the likes of Robert Hazard, the Hooters...even the A's, who didn't last very long, comparatively.

flyskippy tidbits. love it.
i've got a wide range in musical taste as well...but not as wide as yours. country of any kind is right out.

They're getting back to the cross ice passes and the cutesy drops and no-look crap, I suppose to try to make things happen.
They've also gotten away from playing in the low slot. All the things that got them where they are now.

agreed. low percentage stuff going on all over the place. a lot of soft clears turned over at the center point tonight too. driving me crazy. need to go north-south, hard, and keep it simple. the slow starts are another. i'm thinking they're thinking they're in and just want to conserve their energy for the playoffs. might not be a bad tactic.

The transition game has been really bad the last couple games. The traffic in front to create second chances and throw the opposing goalie off his game have been issues on and off all year.
The cutesy poop at their own blueline has to stop. No two ways about it
there's just no good playoff matchup in the east this year is there? 5 we get the pens or they look like they're about to blow by the rags for 1st and the rags are tough. 6 is the panthers who, if overlooked, can bite you in the azz. those are the only seeds i can realistically see the flyers getting.

I don't know. They're forcing themselves to play harder to cover their asses, if that's the case. Kinda defeats the purpose.

It's really immaterial. They're not going to avoid Pittsburgh, Boston or New York if they make it out of the East. So at some point, they're going to have to slay some dragons.

Whatever the road brings, it's going to be a long, tough ride. Good thing they're getting the goaltending now.

It's encouraging to see Bryzgalov playing as well as he has. The overall team defense is better, as well. The key is, they have to get all of it working together. The drop passes and turnovers at their own blueline is simply inexcusable. Guys like Giroux need to stop passing up open shots. A good hard shot that creates a rebound opportunity can be better than a pass across to a cutting winger.
