I'm in the front seat of the Bryz bandwagon, I just don't see him getting off this roll. Besides the last game, the Flyers generally have pretty good puck control against the Pens.
Kimmo and Carle for Crosby
Grossmann and Coburn for Malkin
Kubina and Lilja won't be a liability if they are on the ice against the top 2 centers - ravishingone
Their still dangerous in a seven game series with home ice. Are they beatable? Most certainly.
That's one way to look at it. Another is this- just wait until Crosby starts producing. Staal too for that matter.
Giroux missed in a shootout? - canadianpenfan
Briere and Giroux both did. I'd say Giroux scores more inthis area but if he does have the rare miss, Briere normally scores. I thought all was lost when both missed. I was pleasantly surprised to see Read get the first crack and score.
I think the Pens pass the Rangers, personally. I really, really like the Coots line, I can't believe how young and defensively sound he has become. - ravishingone
I also think the Pens will pass NY for the division. Kid is going to be a very good player for years to come.

Except Pens will have home ice where Bylsma, who is a very good coach without Crosby and Malkin, will have last line change. Gonna be tough against them. Philly can do it, but it will be tough.

I'm actually torn because the Flyers play the Pens twice more. I would like to see the Pens pass the Rangers, but I certainly like Bryz and Flyers to continue to beat the Pens.
Actually I look forward to a seven game series with the Pens because the games are pretty much always great theatre.

He showed nice patience on his breakawy goal though. The kid is as calm as they come with the puck on his stick.

You actually made my point, arguably this is the deepest six D the Flyers have had in years. The top 4 during the Cup run was better (Pronger was a monster), but the third pairing of Kraijeck and Parent was brutal. Kubina/Lilja will be able to hold up on those occasions when they are matched against Malkin or Crosby in my opinion.

You know what the problem is with this though?
Since we've had everyone back I don't think i've seen the same 3 players come out together more than 5 times a game. Bylsma is pulling names out of a hat and that is going to be tough to gameplan for if it continues. I haven't been a fan of it but I'm starting to see the method to his madness. He's like a kid in a candy store right now.
