I think Laviolette opting for Simmonds in the shootout, especially at that time, was a great thing - showing he has faith and confidence in the youngster and helping the youngster believe. - Pixote Andolini
Beat me too it. But my exact thoughts. See above.

Exactly. And in my opinion that's not how I look at it. He's choosing Simmonds for some reason. If Simmonds didn't score there then it's on Simmonds, not the Coach. - MJL
But the Coach continues to put Simmonds out there with many other weapons on his bench at his disposal. If JvR were playing, he's another player I would go with before Simmonds. Tonight I saw that Simmonds was 2 for 10 career before shooting, which makes him 3 for 11 now. Why not push other players? |

Guy was recapping a play, trying to get Bryz' thoughts on what happened.

I actually thought Simmonds looked decent on some of his shootout misses. Sometimes good moves just don't go, or the goalie makes a good play. |

Great report!
He's shutting down the media as well as the opposing teams.

just wait until the novelty of crosby returning wears off - 2Real
I think the Flyers match up really well against the Pens especially if Kubina can stay healthy on the third pairing with a rock solid Lilja or even Guftsy. I think the forwards could really cycle down low on the Pens d-men personally. Letang is great and Orpik is steady, but I think they can do some work against their d.

Of course Radulov scores the lone Nashville goal. Not sure how i would feel about him showing up at the end of the year like this if i were on that team. Skeptical most likely.

Such as who? And after Briere, or Giroux, who has better shootout numbers? Who shows the most skill at it other then Simmonds in practice? And Simmonds scored. So obviously it was the correct choice. I don't see a reason to question it.

The Pens PP is what scares me during a seven game series. |

The good thing there is, the two guys he's supposedly closest too on the team are Weber and Suter. |

I'd like to see Tocchet give Barkann's head a shake. Mike, you're not on WIP right now |

I'm in the front seat of the Bryz bandwagon, I just don't see him getting off this roll. Besides the last game, the Flyers generally have pretty good puck control against the Pens.
Kimmo and Carle for Crosby
Grossmann and Coburn for Malkin
Kubina and Lilja won't be a liability if they are on the ice against the top 2 centers

If anything, it isn't a matter of who has better numbers because some players may have less numbers or none at all. JvR I believe is 2 for 3 but he's not an options at the moment. Read is now 3 for 5 after scoring tonight but it took along time before Laviolette decided to try him because Simmonds has been favoured all season long. I'll say again, I would try other players. Voracek is another guy I would like to get a better look at.

Pens are on a real run here. Just hoping its a blessing in disguise and they dont maintain it. Theres no reason they can't though. They should be crushing teams with the skill on that team |
