it's not as bad as you think

Does anyone know what this years Fan Appreciation Day is supposed to be like? I can't find any info on the Flyers site ... but I know in past years they gave away lots of prizes.

It's this Saturday, and the g/f and I have tickets ... and we're hoping for more than just a promotional poster.

I just want the shirt off someone's back. Any player who has played for the Flyers this year other than Jody Shelley would be fine with me. Sixteen years missing probably 15 games and no prizes. I want a stinkin' (literally and figuratively) shirt.

You have about a 1 in 1000 chance of getting a shirt every year. Not bad odds. But still nothing. An even better chance of getting a prize, maybe 1 in 500. Nothing.

I just think they should have a retinal scanner and if a STH shows in person for a game, he/she gets an entry into a pool for a cool prize. Every time you show in person, you get another chance. So I'd have 42 chances in the pool.

And corporate accounts aren't in this pool. If there isn't a person's name on the account, no scan on file.

I know I haven't written in a while, and while yes, I have been busy that's really no excuse for ignoring you... and you have every right to be angry with me.

But...

Before you turn away, please just know that even though I can be selfish and pig-headed sometimes, I really do love you. Really. I think about the times when you beat the Panthers 5-0 March 8, or that 1-0 shutout of the Caps on the 4th. Remember that? Yeah, haha, those were great times, GREAT times baby.

I hope you can look past my being a jerk and think about those good times, and maybe, just maybe we can relive a bit of that magic tonight against the Caps (they don't even have to know)!
