I know he wouldn't. Thanks for ignoring my question. Like I said, a guy refuses to fight so you send a vicious elbow to his jaw? Makes sense...

So what would you do in that situation since you have all the answers? Have Keith fight Kassian?

Not at all. The Canucks have been notorious dirt bags for a few years. If D.Sedin is out for an extended period of time thats great. Did I mention the Sedin's are notorious floppers ? Divers ? Pansi's ?

Its kinda like the Crosby situation, Matt Cooke was the king of Cheap shots and this year the Pens have been without Crosby due to concussion. Karma ? Maybe. Im just sayin, maybe Danielle has a reason to go down now instead of flopping.

A real intellectual here. Yes, it's great to see big stars get concussed with dirty hits. Just what this sport needs more of. Hopefully it's a career ender, huh?!

This is the problem with the stupid instigator rule. Keith should have dropped the gloves and grabbed Daniel. If he turtles, which he would have, then you just embarrassed him in front of a lot of people. If he fights, then you destroy him in a fight.
- woopstash

Agreed but this would never happen in todays NHL. Burrows one of the most hated guys in the NHL never fights and defends his actions.

Exactly. Case in point. Like Don Cherry said, "The rats are taking over!" These little pukes like him, Marchand etc can do whatever they want cause they know they don't have to answer the bell. Get rid of the instigator and let them them police themselves. Guys like Burrows and Marchand are good hockey players too, it's too bad they get caught up in all that garbage.

My one comment here. Burrows has 54 Career fights. 15 in one season. He fought Tootoo the following game after a questionable hit on dumont.

He's fought Carcillo, Barnaby, godard, Parros to name a few in his career.

He's an amazing hockey player and you need to get over your hate for him, it's pretty pathetic.

If you are throwing dirty cheap shots to the head, and then you get one of your own to the head, you think thats gonna stop you from giving anymore headshots? I bet. For example, Kronwall continues what he does in detroit because nobody has lit him up ifor what he has done. Players will try to fight him, he will either turtle or hide behind the refs (this is what would happen if keith went after sedin). The guy shows no remorse for who he has concussed. If somebody gave him a similar hit that concussed him, im sure he would be less likely to continue his bullsh*t

i just watched the sedin hit on ducan keith on nhl tonight and they said it was clean.
if that hit is clean something is wrong with the nhl since they allow players to target the head. i dont care what part of the checkers body makes contact with the head its still a cheap shot. you want to hit a guy good do it into the chest

the nhl needs to address this like the nfl is doing with the head shots

Thats pretty much what Im saying , there was never going to be a "fight" so Keith needed to do what he felt he needed to do against D. Sedin. Sedin would never accept a fight if Keith asked him to go , Sedin didn't mind hitting him in the head last ewith a shoulder.

I think when he came into the league he was just supposed to be purely an agitator. Now he notches a lot of goals and makes guys pay on the score sheet. One of the most infuriating things!

My question is, has Doan ever been suspended before? If he has not, then Keith will definitely get 3 games. However, if Doan is a repeat offender, maybe, just maybe Keith will get only 1 or 2 or maybe get off with a fine. I have serious doubts about a fine, as a suspension is likely on the way because he did cheap shot one of the league's stars which is a no-no regardless of what the NHL has to say.

Just got back from the game.. and a few thoughts:

1) It's nice to see the Hawks finally playing a much more physical game. It's something we haven't seen from them for a good portion of this season.

2) I said it here numerous times in the past and I'll highlight it:

The Vancouver Canucks are a collectivity of highly undisciplined players who will never win a Stanley Cup. End. Of. Story.

3) Keith retaliated against Sedin. Again, I'll highlight this:

The Vancouver Canucks are a collectivity of highly undisciplined players and because of that (as I've said numerous times on this message board) one of their stars at some point will have a questionable hit labeled on them because of it. Enter the Keith retaliation hit.

4) Here's hoping #19 comes back soon.
